Squealing brakes
My brakes have developed a squeal that have become very annoying and needs to be fixed. Hard braking doesn't make them squeal but normal and light braking does. Seems to be just the rear(s).
Can I get recommendations for mechanics/garages in Perth Australia? |

I have the same problem. Switching to ceramics. Even tho I have a lot of meat left on them. Not worth he pain and suffering. Also the brake dust sucks

apply a heavy brake grease compound to the short edges of the pad backing plate and also where the pistons touch. Might only provide short term relief though. What brand pads? Also do your discs have a lip? You may need to chamfer the long edges too

I don't know when the pads were changed as I've only just taken ownership.
I'm not comfortable with DIY on this car so I will need to find a good mechanic. |

If you just street drive the car ceramics aren't a bad idea. It was about all the dust for me. Went with EBC Redstuff pads. No noise, no dust, good stops.

Just cleaned the wheels using a spray-on wheel cleaner and rinsed with water. Now the squealing has mostly gone! Could the brake dust be causing the noise?
