Suspension (labor Est) ball-park figure
Just tyring to get a ball park figure of what am I looking at in labor for installation of the following parts. I want to get eveything done at the same time. I expect my Avatar will reflect my facial expression when I find out the total cost. I submitted a estimate request to At Speed but havent heard back from them...
Here’s what I want to get installed: 1. Dinan Rear Shock Mounts 2. M3 Sub-frame Bushings 3. M3 Rear Guide Rod Kit 4. M3 Rear Upper Link Kit 5. M3 Front Control Arm Kit ([one pair of wishbones, tension rods and a headlight regulating rod. These are a direct bolt in replacement to the OEM parts) 6. Koni FSD’s 7. BMW 135i Performance Springs (& bump stops) 8. M3 Front Sway Bar 9. 4 wheel alignment when everything is installed. Thanks,

My guess is approximately $600-$800.

Using Dinan figures, it comes to 20 hours.
...adding: I should have said roughly 20 hours Last edited by GaryS; 07-09-2010 at 04:16 PM.. |

That's a lot of work. By the time you factor in an alignment, many of us probably paid $800 to $1k to get coilovers, front control arms, and a front sway installed (I didn't do a sway, paid around $700 if you just count one alignment). If I had a dealer that I liked and they estimated around $1k, I'd for sure take it. If they were getting into the $1500 range, then I'd remind them how much of it can be done at the same time and if they didn't lower their price I'd look around. With the way you broke it down, some probably will give you an estimate in the 20 hr range.

The prices in the US seem very reasonable. I would happily pay 1k to have all of that installed. Let me just say though, your car is going to be one hell of a beast once you have all of that installed. All that's missing is an LSD and you've got the full works.

Agreed, I am hoping around 1k but from the 20hr Dinan reference, from an earlier poster, multiplied by $125 an hour labor rate, I'm looking at $2500. So no LSD for now. Since i have the stage 2 Dinan tune so my next upgrade will be the intercooler and oil cooler upgrade. I am not getting the M1 when it comes out. I love my car and hope to keep her for a very long time. Eventually I would like to track the car for fun.

still......... i guess I am going to have to man-up and bite the bullet. I'm also checking with a friend who has a shop who may be able to let me use his lift. Crossing my fingers but all options are on the table for now.

Well Tischer quoted me $2600 parts + labor for rear subframe bushings alone. That's more than double what At Speed charges. Still there are plenty of shops that charge less than At Speed. But all the work they've done for me has been perfect.

I hear nothing but good stuff about At-Speed. I just submitted another quote request, so I am just waiting for them to reply.

Well, I bit the bullet and I am going to At Speed Motorsports, http://www.atspeedmotorsports.com/ to have all of the work done.
I'll write a before and after review once everything is installed.
