Do all our wheel hubs rust like this?
Is this rust normal in the outer bearing (or whatever you call it!)? I was a little surprised given I don't live in the snow, etc. Presumably it's just surface rust and nothing to worry about?

Thanks Ian, one less thing to worry about. Am getting three "road rashed" wheels fixed over the holidays, so that's enough to spend on the 1M this month!

Yup, that's what I did when I saw rusty water oozing from the seam between the center hub cap and the wheel... Brushed on some copper anti-seize and it's all good.

I'm pretty sure BMW bend the collar nut in two places when they install in the factory to prevent it from backing out. Anyone else happen to have looked lately?
