Oddly, my mats didn't come with the holes in the floor, but still had the holders with the Velcro attached. They stay in place just fine.

I received and installed the low-profile rubberized McMaster knobs.
The grub screws would not work with these, as there is no hole in the top. The old ones were cranked down pretty tight, but I had no trouble with the bolt spinning to get 'em apart. The new ones are threaded almost all the way down the shaft, so were easier to install - and since the base is a little wider, I didn't feel the need to crank 'em down with all my might. Just snug 'em into the pile. Drove about 3 hours this weekend, with a 45 minute spirited dash through the hills - no problems with mat slippage. Wish I could've kept it stock, but failing that I'm VERY happy with the results of my little fix. Last edited by tjswarbrick; 08-04-2017 at 02:04 PM.. |

Nearly 2 years later, I take the mats out every couple months to vacuum underneath.
Never had a problem unscrewing the knobs, getting feet stuck on the knobs, or having the bolts spin when I remove 'em. Very happy with this solution, if anybody else is having floor-mat troubles.

All good so far, still rocking the original mats with velcro.
