Whenever I retire the car from DD to weekender I'm gonna pull the top and the motors...see how much weight I can pull out of the vert.

This is exactly why I got no extra bells and whistles. No seat heaters, no conveinance package, etc. I wish the sunroofs didn't add an extra 35 lbs. But I love them too much. I shaved about 60 lbs. off the car from the factory.

Cool thread BeeTeeDub.

I like my cars with little to no options... Saves money and saves weight. Of course, I love the premium and sport packages.

One of the things I loved about the EVO platform. Mitsushitsu offered the "urban combat" package on the RS model which shaved over 100 lbs. off the car by putting absolutely NOTHING in the cabin. not even an A/C. Couldn't swing that in AZ, but the idea was perfect for track guys....

lol 1. Lots of people neglect that the driver is also part of the equation in becoming lighter/faster

I know you're looking for mod over stock weight savings, but how bout listing some freebie deletes that you wouldn't replace, like winshield washer fluid? That's got to be around 12lbs up front. I'll take 12lbs and a splattered bug any day.

Lol…I’ve been told the number 1 mod you can make to any car is the driver mod… I guess weight factors into that too.

I have no problem including that stuff. I consider the rear seat delete in the same category.

hitting the gym is always a good mod but a 30lbs weight savings on the driver might result in a 120lbs in the passenger seat in the form of a 5'10" blonde bombshell.

Yeah, I really wish BMW would offer some performance geared packages like that. Personally I probably wouldn't go for it but I just think it would be cool if they offered it from the factory.

seems to be pretty popular these days, all 3 Porsche 2 doors have models like this (boxster spyder, cayman r and 911 speedster). I'd love to see BMW go with a new M3 or 1M CSL in the same fashion.

Yeah I love taking the wife out in the car but it's an instant loss of like 100hp and it has nothing to do with weight

I drove my car without the filter and two covers for a while. After a while the smell got to me. Would probably be more feasible if I didn't have catless dps. Probably the best way to do this weight loss mod is figure out some other way to mount the filter and just remove the other pieces.

I'm sure we'll get a LOT of info if berk or evolution racewerks chime in I'm pretty sure those 2 cars will be the top 2 lightest.
