Trade your 1M for my 2017 M2

I am interested in trading my 2017 M2 for a 1M.

My M2 has about 2500 miles, I bought it in Nov. 2016 from LA dealer. Title in hand.
Manual, Exec. Package. Mineral Gray Metallic. Apple Air Play. Perfect. No track days. Used as daily driver.

Only interested in local trade in Southern California! Please PM me if interested.

oh my god. Used 1M is $30,000 - $40,000 cheaper than a M2 in Australia, not to mention any potential maintenance issues.

Think this through...

I hope this works out for you.

M2 better handling, faster, more refined... who cares! 1M is a f*ckin riot to drive and way more raw. definitely an "upgrade" if you truly care more about the visceral feeling you get from driving the car more than overall speed/laptimes

I agree. Best wine in the world is the one you like. I passed on M2 for used 1M after 2 years on list. So did Chris Harris. You bought M2 and tried it. It's not like you didn't. Better now to find clean low mileage 1M. They're not getting any younger. Best of luck.

I bought the M2 as I (still) think this is the best fun daily driver you can get today, with usable back seats, a truly refined beast!
But for me I realized I want something a bit more raw...

Only 2,500 miles? You're barely out of the break in period. I'm dying to know, what is it that the M2 is missing that the 1M has?

Sorry guys but I do not want this thread to become a M2 vs 1M discussion. Thanks.

I would consider trading you my 2013 135i Coupe, straight across for your M2. Less than 18,000 miles and real hydraulic steering, plus I just had the PPK installed :-)

Since we're fantasizing, I have a 2013 Mineral Grey 135is with DCT and Dinan Stage 2 tune. Probably just as fast in a straight line as the M2 lol.

I personally think the OP is making a wise decision. His reasoning is spot on, plus the upside for future appreciation on the 1M. Maybe post your 1M requirements for potential suitors...

Imho you're going to need to sweeten the deal or just sell the M2 private party.

Most people who own a 1M do so because it's the car they want. You're going to need to provide some motivate ($$,$$$) besides not waiting for an allocation to get some interest.

What surprises me is just how much time elapsed before someone expressed this perspective. No intended shade for the M2--more that from an objective point of view, they can "readily" be acquired through new car markets where-as the 1M is already identified as a vehicle that will be sought after for years to come and only increasingly so as time progresses.

Good on OP to try and join early but seeing the consideration of at least a couple of you to entertain his offer, I may have to grab a couple more examples of these 1Ms myself :P

Adding $$ to the trade is entirely possible, obviously depending on the condition, mileage etc of the car...

Would both parties also save the sale tax if private party trade?

BTW I am also considering keeping the M2 as daily and getting a 2013 Cayman S for week ends...

Are you kidding?? The 1M is the best DD / commuter! 80% of the time I'm in a car it is back and forth to work, I want to fill that time by driving something awesome and fun. Plus, I can drive it everyday for close to free!
