Question 08 135i alarm question

I just picked up my 135i, it has the comfort package, but one thing I noticed ... the alarm dome light doesn't go off, or blink at all.

I also tried to break into my car, without the key near me and no alarm went off (I left the windows rolled down so I could pop the door open from the inside)...I thought it had a sensor inside or something that should go off?

I also put the windows up, and tried to open the doors a bunch, still no alarm (but hey, at least it didn't let me in either). I held down the trunk button for 5-6 seconds, no alarm, I am confused! Is it somehow disabled?

I have an '09 128 with the comfort package and it didn't have an alarm. I had to have the alarm installed separately. The early model cars are pre-wired for the alarm so the clown nose on the mirror is there regardless of whether or not an alarm came with the car.

In order for the retro fit to be possible the build date must be prior to 3/09. I had the dealer do mine and it has worked perfectly. I believe they charged ~200.00 for the install including coding.

It is, but talking to other people ... it's not really 'worth it' to even have it.
