Wheel Cleaner
Hello people. Before I get burnt, I know is my friend, but it came up with nothing..
Having not actually cleaned my own car for the past year or so and therefore not protected my wheels I can not get them completely clean with regular spray on wheel cleaners or steam. Anyone got a magic product they use for really baked on wheel dust? Cheers.

Try Sonax or P21s. but have found with both you still need to scrub a little. best thing i found actually is to clay bar it. |

A little early to post this because wont have any stock until the 15th, but the Aluminum restore is good for that stubborn grime and rim bright works a treat for general brake dust.

Thanks guys, I will go shopping today... or might wait until the 15th - another week isn't really going to matter!

+1 for Sonax, though make sure it's the "Full Effect" one that you spray on and leave until it turns red. There's a different one that I don't believe is suitable for painted rims. Almost bought the wrong one the other day.

I've been reading a lot about AA's wheel protectant, seems like an excellent bang for the buck:
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...highlight=p21s but then again, that's to protect the wheel, not clean it. for cleaning purposes, what would y'all recommend I use to get my factory 264s clean? I know there are a several varieties of cleaners within the Sonax and P21S brands alone... |

I use the best, sonax is good but not as effective as P21S. Here is the best wheel car setup I can recommend for NON painted rims.
P21S Wheel Cleaner Gel P21S Polish Soap Swissvax Wheel wax That will keep your wheels perfect for a very long time. For really bad metallic oxidation use adams metal 1 & 2 to bring back shine or a finished look. |

+ 1 Sonax
does the job well then amourall wheel protectant to extend time between having to clean the rims OR blackout the wheels, im strongly considering this option as I cant stand the brake dust + saw a silver m3 with blacked out wheels that looked pretty hot today. Not as boy racer as I pictured. |

My company makes a wheel cleaner product (for friends and family). It's a formulation that we have modified after selling the original forumlation to a certain well known car cleaning product brand back in the early 90's.
If anyone wants some i can give you a free 750ml bottle (with sprayer) if you live in Sydney. We are based on the Northern Beaches in Brookvale. Give me a buzz and i can organise a bottle. 0410 44 1036 This stuff is pretty awesome, strong, doesn't harm the wheel and really helps get off the brake dust. It was all i used with my old X5 4.4i and that thing was a heavy pig that generated so much dust the wheel was completly black every week after i clened them.

lol i have always been around, just slightly more busy with AFL, work and the woman.
Feel free to hit me up any time for the stuff. BTW if you'd answer your mobile we'd probably have caught up earlier lol. O and the car had a mishap the other night, old granny decided to use the accelerator instead of brake when parking, now i need a new rear bumper and who knows what else on my car. Last time i let the folks borrow the car to visit the Harbord Diggers...........
