BMW 18" wheels on a 128i - 4 rears/tire sizes?
I'm probably going to pick up some 18" BMW wheels for my 128i. Right now it's looking like it'll be the style 261, 264, or maybe 269. I think these are all the same offset and size so that shouldn't be an issue.
What I'm wondering is since I'll be buying all 4 wheels (possibly new), assuming they would fit would there be anything to gain by getting 4 rears? Seems like the car has a lot of built in understeer, and I've read a lot of people 'fix' this by putting wider wheels/tires on the front. slightly more neutral handling would be nice. My car's got stock sport suspension, I may lower it a little in the future. I definitely don't want to be using spacers or getting the fenders rolled etc. I'm guessing if I put 4 rears on there, I'll still have to use different size tires for clearance(?) Would this work, or am I better off sticking to the staggered wheels and playing with tire size instead? |

If you lower it and put 8.5 rears in front, you will need to roll fenders or camber to fit 245 tires. You can just use the 7.5 fronts and use 225 or 235 tires instead. No need to use 8.5 rears in front.
