2012 M-sport 128i (E82): Market value vs lease buy back price

I'm asking this without doing any homework. Just want to see if anyone know this off their heads. How's the resale value on this car now, comparing to its lease buy back price? Is it a good deal? My car is nearing the end of lease. Should I buy it and sell/trade in? Or should I just do a lease return? What do you think?

Right now, it has 65000km or about 40000miles.

Are you over or under your mileage allotment?

Buying the car off lease normally isn't the best deal since the residual is probably still pretty good and the km aren't too high. 3 year lease?

Take a look at any number of online sites like KBB and see what they're saying and compare to what your buyout is. Remember whatever you put down as a due at signing basically is pissed away so you have to figure that in as your cost of ownership.

I leased two cars and bought one off lease since the bank took my counteroffer to buy it. I really didn't come out ahead but I liked the car and it was trouble-free. Had it to 112K miles and only did required maintenance. Can't say that about BMW reliability so far.

I too am considering buying out my lease on my 2012 135, but I will be over mileage by about 6k and I got rear-ended which caused minor frame damage. The damage was repaired fine, but if I buy it out, I am always going to have to deal with that scarlet letter on a Carfax report when I try to resell it.

I'm thinking BMW has to give me a really good deal on it for that reason or I won't. If they try to stick hard to the original buyout price, I'm gonna have to say goodbye to my baby (probably go to a 235 then).

I was kind of (naiively) hoping that since they don't technically make the 1 series any more (starting next year?), the resale value would go up. But I guess maybe not.

My end of lease is in about half year. I'm currenly about 5000 miles under. I have about 42000miles on it now, and it's a 4 year lease.

I have some dents on the side of the car that should be easily fixable and I have a cracked windshield. I wasn't going to fix them if I return the car because I bought that hassel-free lease return insurance thing from BMW.

If you don't mind me asking, how much will you be making after the buy out if you successfully sell your car at asking price?

What's your buy back price? Just curious. Looking for a no sunroof 6 speed.

Its in the $21500 range plus 8% tax. So Ill make a thousand or two at most, just enough to cover the wheels and tires I just bought for it. If I turn it in to dealer two things will prob happen. It will end up on auction and someone who has no idea how great and rare this car is will get it and drive it, or they will get it, and jack up the price similar to what Im selling for.

BTW is anybody that has Geico buys this car its covered 100,000 miles 7 years bumper to bumper. That won't stay in effect if I turn back into dealer.

Haha. No way Man! PS. There are a lot of euroboxes for sale on e90post. I've at least seen three.

I try to avoid that place. They have all the expensive toys, DISA manifolds, euro airboxes and M3 steering wheels.

I'm still trying to save up the 80 bucks for the PIAA Precious White 4800K bulbs.
