Closeout on Koni shock/spring kits at tire rack

I've been talking with Koni recently and they updated their spring/shock combos last year and moved to pairing them with Eibachs. So the last of the H&R combo's part# 1140-1873 are being blown out at tire rack for $652. These are the Koni Yellow (adjustables), with H&R sport springs including lifetime warranty and free shipping. I just picked one of the last sets (3 left as of today)

The best deal I could find on Koni Yellows by themselves (forum sponsor) were $616+shipping without springs, so its a pretty sweet deal. And If you dont need adjustability, the same deal on the non adjustable set is even better at $437.

Enjoy!

Hmmm....if that's Koni sport for $437, almost worth it to get another set for for replacement once my current set hit 40k miles.

Do you currently have these on your car? I've been trying to get more feedback on the koni sports vs stock sport suspension. Also anyone running the HR sport springs with the koni sports?

I've owned E36 and E46's with both koni Yellow (sport) and Koni Orange (street). I would say that the yellows are the better choice for track work because of the higher level of stiffness. However if you are doing street only, the oranges offer a stiffness level that is in the middle-low end of the Yellows' adjustment range. Similar to the stock msport ride and make it super cheap to get lowered at the current package price of $437 with springs.

My only concern is with the HR sports, I know the have more of a "rake" drop than the Eibach Prokit's. Im concerned my LM Eurotek reps will rub. Currently have 255/35/18 R, 235/40/18 F

Not sure of rates, it seems to be the Eibachs are more stuff for DD, but offer an even drop. HR Sports have more of a rake drop, but seem to be better DD option. I'm torn, but at $437 I am leaning towards the Koni/HR setup. I did come across Bilstein B12 kit for under $660.

HR Sports are progressive rate generally (if my memory serves), hence maybe slightly better for DD. IMO a well matched damper and linear spring can be just as good as a progressive one for DD.

I'm really leaning towards a B12 setup now, where did you see it for under 660???? Could you PM me the link? Thanks!

Sorry - I take what I said above back - looks like the Eibachs are also progressive rate!?

B12 kit is on ajusa.com for 662.31 shipped when you apply discount code they are offering. I pulled the trigger on the kit. Very excited to get it on!

Nice deal on the B12 kit, thanks for sharing. FYI, they charge CA sales tax which kills the deal a bit. Was going to pick up the kit and sell off the Eibachs for Swifts :/

Yeah, unfortunately it's Cali based so will have tax for you Californians. You can use it to price batch though. Anyone know where to purchase Swift springs for the best price?

Great! Are you doing the full 2 piece bushings or the inserts? I'm doing the B12 also, trying to decide between M3 RSFB and Whiteline 2 piece. Curious on your DD ride impressions once installed.
