ill try to take pics this weekend if i can get a chance. The only ambient lighting i have noticed on my 135i without premium package is right between the map reading lights on the top of the ceiling. Two small red led bulbs that provide just a tad ambient lighting at night.

Nope. No lights in the door panels. That's a dead horse. The ambient lighting package appears to be puddle lights and red/amber overhead console lights (front & back).

yeah like 60Driver said, the ambient lighting is in the bottom of the door handles. it is neat. but, in my opinion the premium package is not worth it, i wish i'd of gone without....just get the leather separately....

Gotta disagree. I really like the premium package. It includes a lot more then just the lighting package.

yeah the premium pack is definitely worth it. power seats make everything better when theres multiple drivers and offer more precise seating configurations, auto dim mirrors make things much safer at night, folding mirrors let you rest easy when parking in tight places or along a busy street, lumbar support is easy on the back, bmw assist will aways be there if you get in a crash or if your car's stolen, i could go on :-)

There are pics posted in another thread about ambient lighting. I think TP 135 posted the pics. Too lazy to get the links for you.

I'd like to change the red leds to blue in my 135. I find the red to be just about worthless for ambient lighting. I had blue in my Acura (last car) and that color worked great. In my 135, in order to get the ambient lighting to actually provide ambient light, the dash intensity is too bright. The light frequency that the blue leds puts out works much better. Has anyone heard of anyone replacing the leds?
Thanks. |
