Exactly what I do. Since it harder for you to do because of the soft braking issue you can try a couple of things:

a. At least go thru the motions of doing it to build up muscle memory.
b. Brake a tiny bit later so you do have to brake harder.

On a side note...I am very surprised you made it to Red group without knowing/being able to heel-toe properly? How are the groups set up there?

For us it is:

Green
Blue/Blue-solo
White
Red
Black

When I left I was in Blue after one track weekend, and then about to be in Blue-solo if I didn't have to leave for the middle-east

Adrian,
this particular event is divided in two main groups of 1 & 2 and then each group is broken down into A & B category. my first ever track outing was with this event and I started in group 1A but by the end of the day I was in 1B. last weekend was the second time I had participated in this particular event and since I already was in the red group with SCCA they put me in group 2A. can't say why they advanced me since I don't have my heel & toe technique perfected. but yeah I have been jumping back and forth with different events and you have to be certified from any of these groups to stay in your particular class. but honestly they are not that hardcore with certification so go figure

PB just start doing it during dd...helps build the muscle memory and makes it a bit easier to transition. During my last event the classroom teacher told us best way to really practice is find a 4 leaf clover set of on/off ramps and stay on them accelerating and then braking and shifting. Generally you can spend hours there driving and practicing w/o having to worry about gettin gpullled over.

It's called harry's lap timer. Very nice app considering you haven't paid 1k for it. Only draw back is the gps works off your iPhone at 1hz rather 10 or 100. Still very accurate with the help of tom-tom car kit for iPhone

Very nice control, good video. What did you have going on with your iPhone? How did you mount your camera? Keep up the good runs!
