running the 'ring next month
So far, the only mods I have are KW V3 coilovers and a procede v5 (and catless downpipes, not installed).
Do you guys have any suggestions for mods that I should do before I track her? Im thinking new rotors/pads, and maybe an oil cooler/intercooler. But with a government shutdown looming, I might not get paid, so Im looking for cost effective mods. Thanks. |

I envy you! only other things to consider other than the pads would be better brake fluid and if you haven't already installed a better sway bar which is cheap to upgrade and yields the best bang for your buck. I wouldn't worry to much about rotors at this point. No worries about a gov shutdown for now. If you the extra bucks I highly recommend camber plates as well. Drastically reduces the under steer. Have fun and let us know how you did

LOL, you won't need mods until you learn the track. Take er slow the first time. And play some Gran Turismo.

Eze, are you going when the 1er.de guys are going to be there for that meet in May?? I will be there the 15th of May early to do some laps before the "big" crowd comes around. If you want to shoot up there with me let me know and I can make the swing through K-town. I spend almost all day when I go.
Definetly do the fluids and if you can, do the ss brake lines with new pads too. I'm running Cool Carbons w/ ATE superblue racing, ECS Tuning SS brake lines and TMS Slotted rotors up front. Also, the advice Pixelblue said is spot on Also, check your pm. If you have any questions just give me a call. Nick

Nick, yeah, im rolling to that meet, but i was gonna do the two day thing. Depending on how drunk i get saturday, im down to do a run or two with you earlier than the group.
I forgot the camber plates, i have vorshlags. I know im getting close to needing a brake job, and my old bimmers always needed pads and rotors at the same time, and my rotors have a decent lip on them now, but i havent mic'd them, so i dont know how bad they are. Sway bar is a definatly maybe, are the euro spec m3 bars the same as us spec? I might buy one locally so i dont have to wait for shipping. thanks guys! |

Hey ezee I'll Pm you some good Ring links. I'll be haeding up for the two dayer from here also. Buddy of mine are looking at going on the 25th of this month. The ring has a full day on that Monday. Kinda of using it as a recon run and hopefully it won't be packed as I believe the 15th will probably be.

If you do go, pay attention to white dots on the edge of the track. Those are your braking/turning points.
