128i halogen to euro xenon conversion

Hi fellow 1addicts members, I've almost completed the halogen to xenon conversion and I've told some of the members that I will have a thread on this topic so here it is.

My car: 2008 128i coupe with halogens
I contacted E 9 0 A N D Y through his For Sale thread of the conversion kit: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=291872
It's supposed to be plug N play, error free.

Andy and his partners have a website: w w w . e 9 0 a n d y . c o m
I would recommend everyone to contact Damon (*********************) as he has a very good customer service and trouble shoot helps.
Andy did leave out some details when I made the purchase and they didn't turn out to be error free.
Through him I got my OEM euro headlights, ballast, resistors, and LUX H8 bulbs (6000K). I payed him 1500.00US for everything including shipping and price varies depending on what the condition of the headlights are. Mine was very good in condition except for a very minor scratch on the passenger side headlights.

Pictures of the parcel:

So far I have parking lights and low beam.
These headlights do not have high beam and I found out later from Andy that I need Daeos harness to get the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).
The lights also flicker when starting, and is probably the LUX H8.
I was pretty upset, because I found these informations out after I got the headlights installed. Maybe I was not careful enough to check these details, but Andy DID NOT TELL ME.
Also, I get both low beam bulb and hight beam bulb out error message.
I'm trying to get this figured out... Damon is thinking that the low beam error might be the LUX H8, as they seem to throw errors and the high beams error might be because the resistors are loose or are not working properly.

They are prewired, so I just need to take off the bumper and put in the swap the old ones with new ones. Also since the headlights do not have high beam and my car has high beam, I needed to put the 50W resistors.
One end of the resistors goes to ground and the other goes to PIN#6 to fool the computer.
For the DRLs, I have the Daeos harness coming in sometime next week.
I contacted Damon, one of Andy's business partners looking to split from Andy, because Andy simply was not very good to deal with. I was just upset at how he never told me about the high beams and DRLs.
When I called Damon and told him about my situation, he said he will try to help me out and he sent me the Daeos harness for a great price.

Before:

After: ignition and lights off

After: DRLs

After: parking lights

sorry for iphone pictures and a lot of blah blah blah.

For those with 135i equipped with xenons and just wanted to have the clear corner, do you think purchasing the same set of headlights would result in similar result? It shouldn't right? Considering, 135i owners would just be swapping out their xenons and others wires from their existing headlights to the new ones... Your thoughts?

it is a lot of money, but if you think about it, the OEM headlights are very pricey alone. Anyways, yeah I'm trying to get everything working.
good luck to me.

Um... I don't think there should be any issue with the 135i headlight swap.
If the euro headlights do not have high beams, then you are gonna have to put resistors to fool the computer.
I'm not really sure why the headlights do not come with high beams?
do the germans not use high beams?

There is a member who did the euro headlight swap on a 135i.

He's car is unreal. It's so slick!!!
I'm sure he can help out answering some of the question regarding the headlight swap.

very nice good job. It would be cheaper to get it originally for 900 though. I regret not getting them on mine too.

yeah getting them with amber corners for 900 and getting some used euros to replace them would be really nice and headache free.
I just had to learn this the hard way.

okay! some good news and bad news.
The lights that Andy sent me, was for a fucking RHD.
He told me that they are from LHD, but I found out from the shop while adjusting the level of the lights, that these headlights are from RHD.
FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!
Anyways I just adjusted them a bit lower overall so I don't blind the on coming drivers.
I told Damon about this and he was speechless!!!
For fixing the error codes, the low beam isn't coming on anymore. Maybe it's because the Daeos Harness, but I'm just gonna watch over it to see if it throws any codes later.
Highbeam error has also gone away, but I'm just gonna watch over time as well.

The DRLs pictures are up on the second post.

Thanks to Damon for all his help and a fast shipping on the Daeos Harness.!!!

So lucky you guys in the States can just purchase the Xenons without the premium package. I want the xenon lights but don't want a sunroof... I wish I could just buy em seperately from the dealer. I'd even pay $1500 for it...
