It's taken months, but I have finally got my Fuel Econ. to come down
Been stuck on 8.6 Litre / 100 km for more than half a year and the other weekend while driving up to Winton she came down to 8.5 Litre
I know it doesn't mean a lot but any reason to start a new thread. |

Hahah great new thread
I reset my avg consumption on every new tank, and my trip meter. I'm just into seeing how bad my consumption and how good it can be. Nailed 7.9 from Canberra to Sydney (included city driving and a few fast blasts on the Hume), and when i do Akuna it can be anywhere around 13.0L |

Haha... try a HSV, mine is 17.6 at the moment. Lowest I have seen it is 9.8 at a constant 110kmh on the way up to Shark Bay.
Looking forward to spending less time at the Servo. |

Had my car reflashed by BMW due to multiple electrical gremlins. I have the dms tune so was not happy about loss in power but can't really tell them that! However, my average of 11-12l/100km has now dropped to low 10s with mixed driving and 8s on highway. I have never averaged less than 10 even when trying.
Gotta rebook my car in now to get the power back! Such an inconvenience. |

I guess I am getting a little better than that. The 8.5 is my average over all my driving for more than 6 months, so I consider it to be fairly good. I don't thrash the car on a daily basis but I do give it a little every now and then, when in the country and not on the freeways I find it hard to resist thinking I am on the autobahn . |

Now that it's colder I am getting much better mileage. It's down to 9.3!

I could really throw a spanner in the works with my fuel consumption.
But in reality - it takes me 5 times longer to get to my destination. |

Here in the States, I just completed a roundtrip of mostly highway 300 miles (~483 km). On the Interstate at 3k rpm (or slightly above), I averaged 25.82 mpg (~9.11 L/100 km) one way and 25.13 mpg (~9.36 L/100km) at slightly higher than 3k rpm. On a 2010 135i MT with 2600 miles (~4000 km). Overall gas mileage, however, at this point is only 23.5 mpg (~10.01 L/100km).

However, they told me that recently BMW have been flashing cars with a new inbuilt tuner protection programme whenever a new software update was warranted. So now I need to bring in car and wait about 1.5 hrs whilst they download the cars current software. This will then be sent to dms in uk where they will check for any tuner protection and send back new file which can bypass this. One good thing though was I left tune on and despite BMW doing full diagnostics and reflash they never suspected a tune. |
