door lock problem

So i went to vic market today to pick up some boreks. came back to my car and the passenger side wouldn't unlock, luckily the drivers side is working fine.
i can still unlock the passenger side using the door handle from the inside. however, when i press lock when it is in the unlock position the door will sometimes lock (not always). when i do press lock/unlock on the key or on the car dash the little lock button thing on the door flinches a bit.
this happened to anyone?
looks like its another trip to the dealer...

Yeh sounds like the locking mechanism is busted. I wouldn't be too surprised, our 1ers are littered with electronic gremlins such as this.

My driver side power window motor failed a couple of months ago and I couldn't even open or close my door since the glass wasn't able to perform the slight 'down-up' function.

Mine did this after washing it one day. Then the next day it magically healed itself.

Mine was a bit temperamental for about a week before failing completely. Spent two days clambering in from the passenger side before I was able to take it to my dealer and get the whole motor replaced.

Magic! A week and a bit later my car has remedied itself. Lock started working again all by itself.

When your warranty is approaching its expiry date, your service advisor should automatically come out and ask you about it. It's easily arranged with BMWAus.
