VK FMIC groupbuy underway

http://www.vkmotorwerks.com/intercooler.html

$580 plus $50 for US shipping, $75 international. Supposedly these fit 135's pretty much the best, basically no trimming. The other two choices I liked were the Helix and the AMS. I decided to go for the easy install and cheaper price.

Now I bet the dealer will really try to blame me on any problems that my car develops. And I don't have a tune....yet...lol.

I know this one is a direct mount replacement compared to the other ones (AA, AMS, etc) that require cutting/trimming...is the gain that noticeable/measureable to be worth the extra cost and effort?

^ Don't let them hear it kirby135i.. But some say on this forum/web, there is a huge whp gain already on a stock car with a better FMIC.... hmm. Not any specialist told me that, that's for sure. Anyway. I have the VK: cheap, easy installation and effective, indeed 30 minutes and there you go. Good quality product! It measured the same results like compatitors like AA/CODE3/Helix. I drive a tune by the way. Benefits? O yes, no powerdropping anymore after intensive drives. And thats good!

have fun!

Here's a picture: VK FMIC compared to stock
As you can see: it is a siginificant difference

I have the VK FMIC as well. Awesome piece & not to mention you can't beat the price! VK Motorwerks are on a roll with their parts! They may be working on an exhaust for our 135s pretty soon too.

Don't think I have any pics since getting the FMIC. I can probably snap some tomorrow if you'd like. Just like what everyone else has said, it's the quickest install ever. First time maybe 30min, once you'd done it twice, I would say probably 15 min.

We will have to wait months to receive it, like the VK downpipes groupbuy?

+1 for a great deal! I havent even put my VK downpipes on yet, but from the quality of them, I would totally jump on this if I had the funds.. Any ETA on how long its gonna take for the FMIC to start being produced?

And is this really a group buy since its directly on their site... Anyone think it would be possible to get a group buy here going and possible get an even lower price?

The FMIC groupbuy had been forming for months, it even turned into two different posts on the E90 side of this site. It ended up with around 80 names but as with the downpipes, I'm sure Vince will take any buyers that he can preplan for so I'd say you have a few weeks to maybe even a month or two to get this price. He expects completion in one month but payment is due now. The price on the site was $895, changing the price to $580 and collecting that way is just how he does his groupbuy payments.
