NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
No Frickin' WAY!!!!
So, there I was, parked at a gas station. I was about to lift the nozzle and select the grade of gasoline when I heard a crunch, and my car moved. I looked up to see the rear of the Explorer that was at the pump in front of me sitting on the driver's side of my new baby! NO EFFING WAY!!!!!! She's not even a month old, yet! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! So, in order to calm myself, I stepped back, pretended it hadn't happened, and filled up my tank. My friends who were in the car behind me waiting for the pump were already taking pics with their cell phones and digital cameras, and had already called 911, in addition to which I needed to take a few deep cleansing breaths and travel to my happy place. Although, I will admit it was pretty damn hard to even frickin' FIND a "happy place!" We then went through the motions, exchanged info., etc., etc. So, it turns out, that while I was distracted by lamenting the high cost of gasoline and paying for it, the lady in the car in front of me was trying to navigate her way away from the pump, while avoiding a disabled pick-up truck in front of her, and neglected to check behind her as she backed up. Great. Just, frickin' great! On the bright side, no-one was hurt, I mean, she didn't hit ME! And I do have another vehicle, so while "The One" is being repaired, getting around won't be an issue. She had one of her children in the back seat, and I felt badly for the poor child who was a bit confused and upset by the whole incident. Oh, and even better, one of her family members was in another car, saw the whole thing, then accosted me, accusing me of driving into the back of the SUV!!! Un-frickin'-believable! |

Oh that sucks!
I've had people pull out in front of me or cut over on me about a dozen times since I got the car. It's like someone is out to get the car or something. Did she at least have insurance? (Nice location BTW) |

You know for sure if you weren't there she would have driven off. I've seen it before, and even called the local police on driveoffs (my work window overlooks a park lot).
So sorry to hear this

What else can be said other than I, too, am very sorry for you and completely understand your reaction. With any luck the other driver's insurance will increase plus receive an infraction.

Thanks, guys. I did get a police report, but I don't think she got a ticket. I don't think the circumstances warranted one. I'm pretty bummed out, but that's what insurance is for. I'm going to take her in to the stealer to get an estimate prior to the insurance appraisal. Hopefully, she'll be as good as new, and soon!

I love it - getting accused of driving into the back of a crooked SUV while in park. You may want to ask the station for the surveillance camera footage in case her insurance tries to f u.

That's why my navigator has reverse sensors.
sometimes cars behind you are so low that you don't see them when you're that high up... but when you hear that damn beeping you know to stop. unless you're a retard. |
