My mechanic also strongly suggested me cutting out my secondary cats and putting a Y pipe into one with a loss resonator with the 135i stock muffler for ultimate power gains and reasonable sound. Eventually i'm going to do this because the shop that welded on my 135i axleback realllllyyy butchered the job. I won't be going back there.

He based it off his experience with e30, e36 and e46's.

I'm not saying you won't gain power axing the secondaries, it just won't be anything like the primaries. For a street car, I think it would be extra pointless for the smell.

Throttle body Delete/relocate
- We technically dont need them, unless valvetronic fails
- Remove from manifold, allowing any restrictions to be gone - ie larger TB mods - the Intake manifold offers largest diameter openning
- Relocate it to be near by so that the sensor is connected
- Combine with intake like evolve's - most free flowing option
I missed this post. It looks like we might actually have an intake upgrade in the future.

Will be test fitting 17x9 ET42 with 255 Dunlop ZIs on the car soon. After suspension is done I will see if it can physically fit with some rolling of fenders.

Will test it on my sisters 125i soon.

We know the intake design works in general, the issue will be getting a decent cold air feed into it.

Too bad the intake manifold does not face the other way. I retrofitted 135i lower air ducting for a potential future oil cooler, and right now it just feeds nothing on the passenger side of the engine bay. It certainly could double feature as a cold air feed. On the driver's side(LHD) the duct goes nowhere, perhaps we could feed from that?

All this references M-Sport.

Can someone post a link to a y-pipe that works? I've looked at a lot of them but don't know which one would be best for a resonator delete.

Sure thing.

Advantage here is also that it works with clamps, so you won't have corrosion issues from welding.

I also noticed that it will delete my secondary cats. Correct? If I plan to upgrade to headers in the future I would like to keep them. This does seem to be a great option though.

Public Service Annoucement

Cut out your Charcoal filters and swap to aFe dry oem replacement

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=141

Further going into the EuroMod path, adding holes will increase TQ. Simmilar to BMW PE adding 17% more to the snorkel and also its opening towards the cabin

It deletes the resonator like you asked, secondary cats are in section 1 and are unrelated. This is section 2.

I have swapped to the euro style airbox and afe filter, so I'm not sure what your advising me to do?

From the thread it showed good gains. I wonder how he euro style intake box compares to the afe box. Same design but the afe is smooth on the inside.

Did we guys talk about final drive/gearing changes? What was the consensus, should we up the ratio for our Manuals?
128i Manual has 3.26, 128i Auto has 3.73, 130i Manual has 3.46, 130i Auto has 3.64

130i manual also has slightly more aggressive individual gearing for I, II, III, and IV as well.

No idea on auto as I never cared.

I wonder if you could retro fit the automatic's rear differential assembly into the Manual car? is the ring gear welded like the 135i? If it's not, would this be a better route, as the case is bigger, a better option for a lsd?
