I absolutely love DSB. The different shades in different lighting are what makes the color so awesome. I had it back on my old 128i.

Also, nice car by the way

Aww, thanks, that means a lot. For the record, I'd never drive a convertible. Mostly cause it would mess up my pretty hair and also I don't feel safe and want to be in a cocoon of metal. Mostly about the hair though.

As an aside, I think I may try to go stop by the West Coast VDC at Port Hueneme tomorrow too to see where our west coasters' cars "became IS's" though may just be me taking a picture of a sign out front.

Well, coming off the ship, alas, it's just a plain old 135i until it spends a week at the port getting all its special IS stuff installed.

Will see what I can do tomorrow though, if I even have the right address.

thanks, man. i really love it too. i actually saw a couple of photos of it (DSB) and ordered it sight unseen because i "wanted a blue car"....i really loved the weird ocean-like shades of blue it puts out in dark and light. it's very interesting! I've never actually owned a 'metallic' painted car before, as my previous cars were all either black or white.....so it sometimes feels weird for me to have so much colour!! Obviously you moved on to an even more colourful colour! nice

Our cars are just plain old N55 135i (with M-Sport but I think M-Sport is standard). At the port, they install the black mirror caps, black lines, PPK 2, PE, and 313s. I am not sure about the black/blue stitch seats + blue bordered floor mats; I suspect that's mounted at the factory.

At the port they install PPK2, take off stock exhaust and put on the Performance Exhaust, install all the exterior and interior IS badging, and stainless steel pedals (if manual I think).

We don't get blacklines, as much as I wish we did as they're not DOT legal in the US, but the cars come with the 313s on them and black side mirrors, unless of course you get a black or carbon black, in which case you get body-colored side mirrors.

And if you need me, I'll be at the port tomorrow, with pics!

+1 What Greg said. He and I did a lot of detective work verifying all of this while our cars were going through the process at the port.

Pff, if anything, I'm taking them OFF the IS's and laughing maniacally as I run out of the building. So I will be taking some clamps with me...WHEN I LEAVE and hop into my awaiting rental car!

Will post pics of that as well since I'm a 135is owners and I've been instructed to show you my car per the thread title. Just hoping it's not korean.

Woo hoo! Congrats, Worra! The car looks fantastic! For a minute I thought it was jet black since it looks exactly like mine in some of the photos. The color is awesome.

So jealous of your blue stitching - my car came off the dealer lot, so that's the only option I really wanted that I wasn't able to get. Welcome to the club!!

Thanks! Loving every minute of every drive so far. Hopefully I can get out on a proper mountain drive this weekend for some of those lovely twisties.

The car looks beautiful Worra!!!!!!!

Any plans for it? And please don't slam it like what others are saying. IMO, BMWs look beautiful the way it is. If you really want to drop it, just go with BMW performance suspension. Can't go wrong with an OEM setup. And your 313 wheels look so sick..

Thanks Marc, glad not everyone here is into stanced/slammed/hellaflush cars. That said, I'm throwing around the idea of MAYBE some 5 or 10mm spacers. Probably eventually get the upgraded intake. I'd like to get the windows tinted, but I'm not sure what color yet. My friend suggested that some blue or green colored euro tint might complement the paint nicely. I'd like to replace that gross plastic "diffusor" with the BMW CF one, but good lord is it pricey. Thinking about possibly wrapping the stock one black while I save up some cash. Do you have any photos of a 135is on BMW performance suspension? I'm curious as to how it looks.

swapalease.com is your friend for that - I just checked, there aren't many 135 on there, and no "is" models

i drove a Cayman as well....loved it...but it didn't have the practicality OR commute-ability (not a word) that the 135is had. if it suits your needs though, it could work.
