BMW original LED lamp interior retrofit kit?
Hi Guys,
So I was poking around over at RealOEM.com for some parts(& prices) for an e39 5er(bc I am looking for used 2nd car over here) and I came across this LED lamp retrofit kit offered by BMW. It occured to me that these LEDs might also work in our 1er's too. What do you think? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...22&hg=63&fg=95 RealOEM.com lists two kits: four LED lamp kit - #63122212787 no price listed ten LED lamp kit - #63122212788 no price listed Maybe someone can look up the price? These retrofit LED lamp kits are listed for our cars here --> http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=63122212788+ Dackel |

Don't know if you guys have seen this, but this is what I have in my car, no errors and it is super bright. Had it probably 4 months now. I get comments on it all the time. People love them.
http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/bmw1seehipol.html Only pic I can find right now.

^^nice lights. But $70 bucks is kind of steep. I was hoping that the BMW LEDs would be much less. I might just run this past my local BMW Zentrum.

It looks like these are the LUX version of interior lights. They do look nice though!!! If they were priced like $40 ill definitely get them.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy these guys again, they are definitely worth the money IMO. Replaced every dang light in my interior, trunk, glove box, sun visor lights, everybody comments on how dang bright they are. Definitely the LUX of interior lights!

I installed the BMW LED 10 piece kit a few months ago and love it. In Canada it's about $160 and closer to $100 for the 4 piece kit. It doesn't come with bulbs for the trunk, glove box or visors (those or the hot dog bulbs not peanut bulbs).

I think the 10-LED kit is only needed for cars with the premium package. Cars without the package cars have three overhead lights in the front and one in the rear. Premium package cars have the three overhead lights in the front, plus the sun visor lights, plus the two footwell lights, and I think they might also have two reading lights in the rear. The description on realoem.com alludes to the LEDs not being compatible with some instances of the interior lights because of the bulb type.
