BMW Cost Cutting?

Apparently the option for floor mat anchors wasn't chosen for the build of my car.

I'm contacting my dealership to see if they can install the velcro anchors which would probably not solve the problem, but it would be a start. My second thought is to use strong double sided tape for now and possibly even after the dealer's help.
Dealer installs velcro anchors?
Double sided tape?
Sticky velcro stuck to the carpet?

Other ideas?

Velcro is what BMW uses too. Your dealer only sells what BMW produces. The old style anchors are a thing of yesteryear BMW's. I liked them better too.

So they don't install the anchors anymore? What the hell is the velcro supposed to stick to then? It's not a magic tape all by itself!

Mine as well. The Velcro anchor actually pulls out of the floor pretty easy. Keeps the carpets in place though.

Problem solved for now. My SA told me to cut holes in the carpet to install the anchors.

You would think that with as much over engineering BMW does they would have engineered an efficient and planned way to anchor the floor mats so that they wouldn't move around and be a safety issue.

Velco wheel anchor ripped out of the floorboards on mine. I really wouldn't worry about it too much.

I have these, they just screw into the carpet and your mat sticks to them. Easy and like $5 from eBay.

I have a spare set of anchors - they came with the floormats I bought, but the car already has them.

I'll give them to you if you cover the shipping from 30187. PM me if interested.
