I do not think that BMW will release a car without a decent auto tranny because sadly this is what most people wants.
(It is gonna be hilarious if BMW did what Pagani/ Maclaren did with some of there cars.. MANual is the only tranny that you will get and if you do not like it f**k off bcz there are a lot of 'Real Hardcore racer' who wants a real sport car with real clutch and transmission) I would put money that a 1-M with the rumored 335hp will beat any of our 1er with (JB, Procede ....etc) around Nuremberg by at least 5 seconds..

So from the speculations now given, its showing that the people previously arguing that its an M version of the 1 series and the people that argued that its an 'is' version of the 1 series are looking to both become correct. We'll see as they reveal final information.

There is so much BS speculation coming from both the press and this community. The real jist of what BMW has done is to verify the coming of a 1 Series M car. And not a 135is. It will be called a 1 Series M Coupe. And that is all. Nothing more, nothing less. A few select people have been in the passenger seat of a prototype, with a few laps around a track. Nothing more, nothing less.
And the statement for now, is "It is coming, but we will have to wait". All this speculation about HP, DCT, power bulge, quad exhaust, N54, N55, LSD, weight of the car, and even still the name of the car, is maddening. My question is, why can't people accept this? The 1M is coming, and that is really all we know.

I really hope there is no DCT option. It'll reduce the buyer pool and help my chances of getting one :-)
I'm still debating on whether I should wait for the 1 M Coupe or just buy a 2003 M5 + 2010 BMW S1000RR

Interesting. This article makes it sound like BMW is trying to put this together on the cheap, "there is no budget for expensive lightweight materials". Which does make some sense as they surely are not going to put out anything that will flat out beat an M3 for less money. If that is the case, my car after a PPK and front swaybar should be about equal in performance.
Kind of glad I didn't get too excited about this. |

When the E46 was offered at the same starting price (mid to upper $40's), was it also labeled "affordable?" It just cracks me up when people say the 135 is a poor mans BMW when it you could buy an M3 for the same price just a few years ago.

based on above listed spec
what a total disapointment to me so far, the 1M is basically a way to milk some money from the outgoing chassis before the new one comes out and until the next M3 comes out with more power the 1M will be the boxster of the BMW family just enough power so it doesn't compete with the M3 i wouldn't pay $45K for this would rather pay that money and buy a used M3 a real M car not a 135is in M clothing |

I know the M divison has made some MAJOR fail lately (DUB magazine style overpowered SUVs?), but I'd rather stay optimistic than pessimistic. They haven't royally f*cked up a coupe yet, and I don't think they will now.

Surprised they said the seat height is lower than a 3 series because a regular 1 is taller than a 3 and the seat height is also correspondingly higher than a 3.
That is one gripe I have about my 128i is that I think the seat should go about 1-2 inches lower, not that I am crowded for headroom, but still I am sitting "up high." Maybe they fixed it on the m1i 1M coupe turbo m1 coupe 1m? |

No specifications are out yet, how one can estimate 335hp from sitting in the passenger seat is beyond me.
guys I'm new to the forums, do I need a certain amount of posts before I'm allowed to PM? |

I had the manual seats in my 135i, and they were plenty low.

Body control looks pretty good from watching the prototype lap the N-Ring, and it sounds pretty fantastic, but that's about all that can be said.
