Can US Spec 2011 135i iDrive play DVD?
Hi,
I search around the forum and can't find out that can US Spec 2011 135i iDrive play DVD movies? If the iDrive can, i can get the smart TV to make it playable while driving? Thanks

Any 2009 BMW or newer with iDrive should be able to play a DVD movie when it is parked.

Did anyone know about smart TV?
Is that really work? How hard it is for DIY?

I have seen some BMWs around where the TV works at any speed. The big thing is to correct the speed input cable so that the radio doesn't think your are moving. Not sure how to do this though.
As for DIY, I thinkth at is relative. I have not taken too close a look at the dash on my 128, but it does look kind of complicated. I would say find the BMW docs that explain how to remove the appropriate panels and if you are comfortable with doing that it should be ok. I have done lots of wiring in the past, my 2002 MINI Cooper had one of the first S/E bluetooth kits in the US. It worked well, even got audio muting though the stereo to work. But it was hours of dash disassembly and reassembly. The easiest way to get the TV to work would be to chat with a skilled audio shop that has experience with new BMWs. |
