I'm so jealous that you're near detailers domain. Can you pick me up a new hex grip tire dressing applicator?! Mine's shredded. Thanks! =P

I've used a Battery Tender Plus on another car that spends a lot of time in the garage and have had great results. Is the Amazon/BMW one significantly different than a Battery Tender Plus?

Not sure, I looked up the part number from BMWUSA.com and purchased it from a BMW dealership who sells on Amazon.

Boys, we should buy Marc a "is" badge and make him a honorary lifetime grey metallic "is" member.

Then you can brand him with it for leaving you out of that homage. =P

It sure is a perty color. Sadly, all I see in that pic is the large wheel gap.

I know some like the mineral grey in bright/direct sun, but I like it in the dimmer light as it looks much darker and more sinister.

Got a call from dealer and they confirmed battery was only at 50% charge, says most likely the result of a valet leaving the key in too long. Either way they let the car charge to full and then tested battery: voltage looked good and no parasitic draw they could identify. They also replaced the front bulb, really odd though since its the 2nd time I had to replace it. I hope there's no underlying issue with the headlight?

I also mentioned possibility of low coolant but everything was fine, just topped ofd washer fluid lol.

Oh yea my replacement tips arrived. I really like them and I can see why so many E46 M3 owners opted to replace their OE tips with these. I realize some 'is' owners might consider chopping off the PE tips to be sacrilege but hopefully they'll turn a blind eye lol

I think these tips even match the PE tips in length and diameter (inlet and outside). Will post pics next week when I get a chance to drop them off for welding. Once installed you will NOT see the tapered narrow pipe (even OE is similar in this sense).

Ooh, pretty. I liked the looks of these, so I'll be curious both how they look, but also if it changes the sound in any way. I'm too chicken sh-t to mess with it, but I've always wanted a fancier looking rolled edge. Can't wait to see the finished product from various angles, etc.

+1.

I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like installed Dan!

Thanks, truth is you'll never see the welds so I can easily go back to stock. When I install them I'm going to ask they maintain the factory offsets. Here's how these tips look on the E46 M3:

Interesting. I think they look great, but I also don't think they look right on the e46 M3. Looks too bulky for that car. Hmm. But I forgot, you have the BMW CF diffuser, too, so might look really good with that. Now I'm wondering how which diffuser you have might affect how good it looks. Might look too bulbous/big maybe with the stock diffuser, or least out of place/out of scale. Glad you're the guinea pig!

Oh yes! That shot captures the Mineral Grey look I love so much! But that car definitely needs blacklines and some sort of drop... Performance Suspension perhaps?

Those tips look fantastic! Let's face it... our PE tips were cut to length by a saw blade and nobody bothered to do much more than deburr the edges...

Also interested in seeing the new tips. You could be starting a whole new trend!

Driving around enjoying the spring-like weather in Santa Barbara the last two days -- top down, naturally -- I realized that in almost two years, I have never seen another 135is convertible on the road. None. Not even in the SF Bay Area. Not bad for a low-rent convertible. Oh, and did I mention how great the exhaust sounds with the top down?

my wife and i have been down the wine trails several times ... great area for a top down drive.

in fact there is a little road, Tepusquet Rd, in that area which is in my top 5 all time fun dives so far.

(this pic was taken in southern utah on its first shakedown cruise)

Woo! Another 135is convertible. Welcome vegas135is! Is yours a 6 MT or DCT? I think that makes two of us on this thread now...

Excellent color choice. Too many Mineral Grays on here

Beautiful car and picture as well.

I was about to say, Kouper will be so excited to see another 135is convertible, too, so he is no longer alone.

Even though the mineral grey might be the best color, or at least have the most enthusiastic owners, alpine white on coral red is an amazing combo, especially on a convertible to show off that red.

Kouper will just implore you to get the $30 stubby antenna though to both improve the looks and perhaps save an eye.

I actually never have to implore anyone, as Greg is my #1 lobbyist for the stubby antenna and always beats me to the punch. And yes, it looks good and eliminates the risk of poking an eye out.
