Here,I'm in the left lane showing off,got aout 45,000 pounds of meat in the box.I got a CB radio report that there's a "smokey bear" state trooper sitting in the middle at the 286 mile marker "taking pictures" using his radar gun and at the 299 there's a "county monty" deputy sherriff with a "customer" or "captured" (one getting a ticket),will have to back it down in about 25 miles.

I got to be in Chicago @ 5:00 am there's no time to pull into a rest area it's reffered to as "pickle park" because that's where "good buddies"(gays) hang. For the most part the cb radio gives me better early warnings than the V1 10-4. and some other pics.

I agree, most truck engines out there are elctronic, the ECU will advance the engine timing based on outside temperature etc.,and volvo trucks are even equipped with airbags. The so called automatic trannies are actually manual trannies with actuators for automatic shifting a la BMW SMG.Volvo also uses hydraulic clutch. I was going to get an Imola red M3 with black interior ,the M3 clutch pedal was harder than our volvos clutch, not to mention it rode like a bucking bronco,my sales guy was pretty nice to let me take the M3 home for a day then of couse I got my E90 from him.I think the E46 M3 looks sharp though.

Oh, one more thing cummins uses a variable geometry turbine not used in non commercial vehicles yet, where CAT uses a twin turbo system for its engines.

There's a lot of variables wind directions head wind or tail wind, truck weight light or heavy, how fast you're going etc. fuel consumption can go from 4.5 to 7.5 MPG so usualy for what we do I'd say 1200 to 1500 miles,so 2 days or so. That particular truck has two 150 gallon tanks with 260 gallons usable fuel on the flat.

Holy moly, that's a lot of fuel!

I was always a fan of "Smokey and the Bear" tv show from ages ago. I think i should save up for a big wheeler and live my childhood dreams.

"Kum and Go" sounds like a more appropriate name for an adult peep show. Reminds me of those "In and Out Burger" bumper stickers when people would take the "B" and "r" off the word "Burger."

The term "Smokey bear" use comes from the forest campaign's mascot because his hat and big brother attitude is very similar to those of most state troopers .
