Unhappy 1M New veichle contract ???

Hi....

Ordered an 1M for delivery end of July...£1000 deposit down......

Paid 38660 + sun Protection option (240) + VAT
= £38900.00 Total

Then the other items on top ........ as follows ......

But couldn't help noticing on the new vehicle contract a section called other items . This is the first time I have ever bought a new car, so very green and could do with some advice .......

Other Items ( As Per Invoice )

RFLP12 RFL Band K - Petrol - 12 Months ( Inc 1st reg Fee.) £635 (No vat)
50 Number Plates £25
50 Fuel £30
DEL Delivery £700
588 BMW Seal & Protect 2 £499

Sub Total £1889.00 Inc VAT

Therefore total purchase Price = 40789.00 inc VAT

This all seems a bit pricy to me , and wondered if any other people who have ordered an m1 have paid for these 'Other Items' ??? And are they worth having or not ??? Or have they had my pants down ???

PCP 3 Year deal .....

16200 total deposit down .....

Residual bubble after three years = £ 17500

and £ 383 per month for 36 months

Any suggestions or thoughts ....... please .....

Thanks - Bruno

£500 for Seal & Protect. Ouch. Thats nearly all dealer profit as far as I have read. try googling it, there are some quite interesting threads out there.

My dealer was going to charge me £200, I decided against it, might ask them not to clean it at all as part of the PDI and get it detailed by a pro instead.

Rest of the figures look OK.

Seems your APR is similar to mine however how come you are throwing so much down as a deposit?

Mark

Question

Thanks for your help guys ....

Mark,
Keeping the montly payments down was the plan, buy putting the max deposit down I could, hence 16200.

Took the PCP over 3 years with a guaranteed resid value of 17500.. (bubble)
did you do the a similar deal ?

Anyone else done this deal on an M1 with BMW ???

Also does anybdy have any idea what the residual value will be realisticly ??? I ahve tried working it out based on a New M3 depreciating over three years and came up with a figure of around 27k ????

Regards - Rich

Don't let the dealer prep your car. Just take it to a pro shop for them to have it cleaned and sealed properly for you. It's more work for a pro shop to properly seal a car after the stealership has done a crappy job on it.

That residual figure looks right compared to the 3 year deal i was offered.
Went for 4 year PCP myself, with a residual of £14,700.

8.6% APR, £10k in, £650 per month.
