So basically if I wait it out for a 335xi, I'll still be without a new car and waiting at this time next year?

Highly probable.

As long as the new models have been publicly announced by then (as I'm sure they will have),
then buying right at that time should definitely give you some more leverage in negotiation.

At the expense you would probably have to take one off the lot.

Nahhh.....
....they'd be able to build one to spec out of their own allocation, and they would deal better than they are right now. That way you've already taken one off the lot for them without the car ever being parked there;; just a month or two before the '07s arrive.

Plus I believe the demand for Xi models is higher in the winter, so ordering in the summer should help as well.

335i?

I wish that they would just release some info about whether or not the rumors are true?

Speedfreak,

What of the wagons? Is this why we haven't heard of a 325it? I'm hoping BMW will add a 328it to the line up...that would be perfect!

If you could find a 330xi in June/July the way you like it... with the coming 335i... should be a very good time to buy.

Or... you could always take advantage of one of the killer leases they have running now. There is also a chance that as the transition takes place, BMW could kick down a rebate to sweeten the deal for you even more. All the money stuff is simple speculation based on historical patterns. I hope that helps.

The 325xi Sports Wagon has been out. Haven't you seen it?

Note I wrote "325it". I realize that the XI wagon is out, but no word on a RWD wagon...yet. I was hoping you might have some insight.

I'm sorry to say... there is no plan for one in the US market right now. The Sport Wagon is only genuinely popular in regions that have weather conducive to the AWD set up. Sorry.

Those concerned about the 335i badge can always change their's out themselves.
Few, including the "badge engineer" are likely to notice the difference in performance. <g>

Yeah, that is until you goto resale and find yourself in jail . Engineers might not know, but the carfax people do.

I tell you guys its not a big deal, I have a MY2000 323, I doubt on trade-in I would get much more if it was a MY2000 325. Hard to pin-point because no MY2000 325 existed, and I can't really compare the price to MY2001 325, as its a different year and obviously worth more.

If it really bothers you remove the badge all together. Personally, I find it looks better with no badges anyway. Makes it more leet in my opinoin. I will likely immediately remove the badge from my E93 convertible regardless if I get the entry level BMW or the higher-end 335.

What? No RWD E91? We were told that it would be released in the spring. That plan has changed? I can see postponing it until the new engines are out in fall 07, but to kill it altogether seems like a bad idea.

Does anyone know if the prices will change on the rebadging? What about the engine itself?

Pricing ALWAYS increases with every new model year. Traditionally this takes place every Sept.
