Group buy 1 series? Eh!?
I was thinking since so many of us are interested in purchasing the new 1 series. Perhaps we can form a group buy at our local dealers and get more bargaining power? Not sure if this will work. Just a thought.

Can we hold off this group buy until 2009? That's when I'm planning on getting mine.

even better, do an European Delivery group pickup. Lots of people have done that for the 335i coupes and saved money

There have been group buys of 3-6 cars that I've seen in Bimmerfest. The issue is that if you're not doing an ED, they all come out of the dealership's allocation, and they might not have that many slots for all of you to get cars on the same month.

Group buy sounds like a good idea but can be incredibly messy. Who will handle the money? What happens if one or more of the group pulls out - will you have a contract between you, and if so will you really want to enforce it?
When this car launches it will likely be in high demand and dealers won't need to offer a big discount to get them out the door - I think you are wasting your time. antto. |

Antto.. I'll run it. You all just send me your money, and you'll get your car in 3 mon ths. I"m good for it. Really.
As for past GBs I've seen, each member handled the money aspect, but there was a single point person that the CA could contact. |
