Oil Service vs Oil Change?
Is there a difference between the two? I had gone in for an interim Oil change on my car and I got this online coupon @ the dealership for a free set of wipers when you do an "oil service or Inspection 1 or 2". The SA said that there was a different between Oil Service vs Oil change. He said Oil service was like the major scheduled maintenance service.
I thought this was confusing so that I thought I should ask here whether this is the truth or not. |

The oil change requires the dealer to drain out your old oil and top up with new fresh oil. Oil service or inspection simply means they take a look at your oil to see how dirty it is, they don't actually do anything.

The SA is right. Your dealer should charge around $100.00 for an oil change, but upwards of $200.00. for an Oil Service which includes a number of service checks.
And the old Oil Service - Inspection sequence doesn't seem to apply to 1ers. Tom |

No, they change the oil in either case. The dealer is probably saying that the "Oil Service" is an oil change, plus the inspections that go along with it (which are pretty basic from what I can tell). |
