I've been in Portland for the last 10 years, and the issue isn't so much our occasional snow, when I don't bother driving anyway, but cold weather. High-performance summer tires harden in cold weather and lose a lot of traction, particularly when it's also wet.

And no real good wet tires when you dip into the "snow capable" selection. Every winter tire perform quite poorly in wet but fantastic in snow (relative to the summer tires like PSS in wet). Maybe it's the width as well since for the 1M would be going down from 245/265 to eith 235 or 245 square setup (on 9.5" rims)

Used Dunlop Winter Sport 3D 235s square setup with no problem in Toronto region.

Carmax always has anywhere between 2 and 5 1Ms in stock. Pretty decent prices on them too.

Sad that the owners went to Carmax instead of the classifieds.

Off topic but what is the exact size of your rim? I'm planning to go 18x9.5 to allow me to use the rims for track if I choose to and 235 is a bit tight for 9.5" wide rims

it's funny how Einser's old 1M is on sale at Car Max (the one with the dark roof)....Car Max must have figured out that it's been heavily modded in the past because they've brought the price down considerably now. LOL

If you look at the exchange rate it might be better for you to import it from Canada.
That's funny. Just drove by the first one you linked, and wondered what they were asking for it.

In the West Island this weekend with my 1er.

To update the ongoing price demand,

Yesterday 2/15, I paid 57.5K for a black, fully loaded, 5500 mile 1M from the original owner. All paper work since new was provided as was window sticker and 3 year warranty from selling dealer. Paint checked out as factory depth and consistent with a paint meter..4.5-5.5 and a PPI was performed by my BMW dealer and passed with flying colors.

Seller was happy and I was happy. I went in wanting to pay 55 for a 1M and ended up at his asking as the car was excellent.

You do realize the black is a much heavier paint than the VO, making your car slower by about 1 sec in the 1/4 mile...

Well I'd like to point out that VO is a metallic paint whereas White is not, and therefore is the lightest and fastest.

I prefer stealth. Haven't seen a white or VO Stealth fighter yet... But they do come in black...

well VO would be significantly more stealth in:

(1) Lava flowing from a volcano
(2) A fire
(3) Fruit market selling only oranges

You guys crack me up.

It's common knowledge that VO paint is far more aerodynamic than black or white.

Come on people, get with the program...
