After 4000 miles...weird things I found in my 325XI

1) Auto folding mirrors - passenger side mirror folds faster then driver's side
2) Windshield wipers makes a loud unusual “sweak” sound when going back to default position
3) When AC is on – I can hear rattle somewhere underneath the front of the car (sounds like something is loose) I only hear/notice it when the car is moving

4) Passenger side interior door handle piece is loose; the snap-on piece is loose

The one thing that bothers me the most is #3

I haven't noticed any of those things on mine and I have a little over 5K miles on it. My gas mileage still sucks though.

i have notice #3 after 13000km just now, it happened for a whle but now it is gone. strange

I have #1. It was like this when I first got the car. The passenger side mirror folds and unfolds faster.

I hit 4,000 miles today and i also have issues 1 through 3.
Not 4 though. hmm very strange

I have no issues right now, except bottoming out, which is due to the coilovers

My MPG is VERY bad though...oh well its worth it

I have issue #1. I thought I screwed it up. I guess it's normal now.

Another Issue I've just noticed today is that the car rattles when I listen to music. I didnt turn it up loud, had the two front doors open and noticed rattling...Is this normal?

you mean, you were listening to the music while the car is stationary with the front doors open?
or
your front windows were rolled down when the rattle occurs? 'cuz it may be the windows rattling against the door while they're down

do you guys get squeaky wipers? today it was raining pretty hard, and my wipers were seriously convulsing, I figure it's probalby dirty or soemthing, I wiped it down, same shit. But after 2 hrs or so, the sqeaking went away and the wipers were going up and down smoothly like they're suppose to

I was cleaning the windows with the front doors open. I know it's supposed to rattle when the system is turned up really loud, which isnt the case this time. Is this weird??

I have the similar situation, I turn up the tune too while cleaning the car, the sound I experienced is not 'rattle' per se, it's more of a vibrating part when the bass hits, I can't pinpoint where it's coming from, I figure I'll add some sound deadening material later on if it really bugs me. THough, I can't hear the rattle/vibration inside the car.

it happened to my after i first wash my car and i forgot whether i used those glass cleaners accidentally on the wind shield and casuse the squeaky now.

now, there is 0 sound

oh and ska, you should definitely have your dealer look at noise #3, maybe a part is loose in around the engine bay

yeah there we go. It's more like vibrating parts like you said. I've heard somewhere that the interior of BMWs were made so that they dont vibrate when the volume is turned up. I guess that means the exterior vibrates instead??? Let me know what you find out. Thanks man

Yours is much better than mine. Mine is about 19 city, 24-25 highway.

The onboard computer says that i am averaging 23mpg, but i have a lead foot so it doesnt suprise me one bit. I still have to fill up only once a week, its just more expensive than it was with my Civic that i traded in for my E90

During some songs, mainly bass guitar type bass i hear a rattle that sounds like it is coming from the passenger side door. I have yet to investigate but from my past experience with rattles has been that i take it to the dealer they either fail to fix the original rattle or they fix it and 2 more show up in other places..

4 days and i have 475 miles already
