Anyone Else (in CA) Waiting?

My car is sitting at the port of Oxnard (Port Hueneme). It came in on a boat today. Is anyone else "in the same boat" as me?

It sucks having to wait...and tomorrow is my day off! If only it were at the dealership tomorrow! Unfortunately, I have to work Thursday and Friday, but I have Saturday off.

The long wait is nearly over, and the last few days are the hardest! It's even harder knowing that it's not far away from me. I could be at the port in like...an hour or so.

My car is also on the Poseidon Leader and should have arrived at the port today. I've missed my car a great deal over the last 5 weeks.

I am very excited to have her back, but sad that it will have to be on these awful domestic freeways.

I already asked the dealer to do an interim oil change on my dime before I pick it up.

A fresh update of Zaino product is on hand and if I get so lucky as to get it back this week, I know what I'll be doing all weekend. Well, besides driving the crap out of it! :thumbup:

Oh, I had some fun tracking it. :biggrin: I signed up for a free account on Vesseltracker.com and tracked it around Florida, through the Panama Canal, etc. I wasn't able to catch it on the canal web cams, though that was interesting for a while too.

Originally, according to the PH schedule, it was supposed to be in yesterday, but it looks like it did make it today. Now the only question is how long it takes customs and vehicle prep...

I hate the wait...I had no problem waiting (working every day!) until I found out it would be late.

It's only an extra 1-3 days, but for some reason, those 1-3 days seem like they're going to be excruciatingly long!

I think it's because I requested days off in order to pick up the car, and now I have days off with nothing to do. I wish I had some kind of hobby to keep me busy in the mean time.

I wish I only had a few days more to go!

I just ordered at the end of November and my dealer was awesome enough to have the production on my car start last week. Due to the holidays, production will be complete 1/9, then comes the boat trip and then the wait while it is being prepped. Oxnard port is only a little over an hour from me too.

It still seems like a dream to me and I don't think I will realize this is truely happening until I get the call and walk up to the car for the first time. ARRRGH...I'm excited!

Waiting can really be brutal and I'm trying very hard not to think about it during the day. Having a day off and knowing the car was that close would be very, very difficult. Hang in there.

It does suck! I had my day off, and all I did was go get a haircut and then go to the gym. After that, I just sat here and surfed 1Addicts.com all day. Checked my email; hoping to here from my dealer.

I did hear from my dealer...

...unfortunately, their system is down and he has no further information for me.

...and that's what I did on my day off.

Even if there was no BMW love today, it will come. Soon. And when it does, it will all be worth it!

(sigh) Yeah. Still waiting. Talked to the dealer today and they are expecting the truck "any day" now. I'm not entirely convinced and am starting to consider the possibility that it may have been damaged in transit. If I don't have it by Friday, they are going to have a very angry person on their hands.

usually when it went pass the prep center at Oxnard the likelihood of it getting damaged from prep center to your dealership is small.

Sorry - clarification. I was considering the possibility of damage in transit meaning perhaps it or another car broke loose during shipping. Or else a little mishap during unloading...

But, today is a new day, so perhaps this will be the one that will bring "the call." :biggrin:

Luckily, I'm patient. (yeah, right!) Today, I finally got the call and picked up my baby!

She's parked outside right now and looking none the worse for wear. Of course, not all is quite right, but I'll get that sorted out quickly enough.

First on the docket is a break-in oil change.
Then tint - anyone know a good Huper Optik place in the valley? I thought I'd give that stuff a try this time around.

Sadly yes, work finds a way to intrude in my life pretty much every day of the week. One of these days I'll figure out how to restore balance to that whole work/life thing -but not today.
