I felt compelled to reiterate how awesome this trip report is. Wish I can make the journey someday.

Awesome photos Dackel! Man, makes me a bit jealous that I never made it up to Stelvio during my ED. Having a much bigger car than I expected (5 series instead of my ordered 1'er) combined with the fact that the weather was pretty miserable up there on the day I was going to do it meant that instead I headed to Garmisch and drank lots of beer at the Garmisch Marienplatz. Can't complain too much; I am not sure it would have been nearly as fun in a 5'er. That car was just too damned big; I could barely park it most of the time.

Stunning views. Looks like you hit it at just the right time weather-wise, simply couldn't be topped!
Vids need a little more cowbell though. Thanks for posting! ianc

Dackel that's fantastic, thanks for sharing and you've definitely given me some inspiration to add this to the list when I visit family again in a couple of years.

Man... looking back at this thread brings back so many memories of my first Stelvio trip. I think I have been back six or seven times now... and it never gets old. Well except when you get stuck behind a bunch of RV's or cyclists going up the pass!
