Thumbs down BMR Autowerkes problems ?

Has anyone had any problems with their order or getting in touch with with Stu?

I placed an order which he said would be sent out earlier this week, but have not heard anything from him since and my emails have not been replied which is a pity as he seems to have a good rep on this forum.

I ordered some lights from him via email late week, got a quick response and I paid online via his email instructions - he gave me a shipping tracking number 20 minutes later.
Hopefully they arrive tomorrow or Tuesday.

His service is second to none.

UPDATE: package arrived on Friday! Wife forgot to tell me that it had arrived. Ordered Thursday 4:00pm, arrived on Friday. Cant get much better service than that!

Every time I have called Advan and asked for Stuart, he has always been there to help.

Maybe you should try calling him between working hours and not complain on a forum when he is trying to enjoy his weekend??

I had a similar frustrating issue recently. Wasn't going to post anything as I've met Stu at Advan before and he's a lovely dude, and he does have a great reputation here so I thought it was a one off problem.. but since you've posted I might as well share.

Timeline went like this:
  • 28th November - Ordered Lux V4 Angel Eyes - listed as In Stock on the website.
  • 3rd December - No "shipped" notification or any update on the order page which was weird, as the website said it'd be shipped within a couple of days so I figured I'd give a quick call to ask what the status was. Called in the morning and spoke to Stuart and was told someone would "check on the order and get back to you today"
  • 4th December - I noticed Stuart was posting on the forum around lunch time, yet I'd still received no call back the day before, and no email or order update, so I replied asking what was happening: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...1#post17027151 . So it turns out the V4s weren't in stock, but I was being upgraded to V5s instead and they'd be here next week - awesome, I'm happy to wait slightly longer for V5s!
  • 13th December - Still no update. I'm in at Advan anyway so when I saw Stu I asked about it. He assures me they'll be in "next week". No problems.
  • 18th December - I call up, am again told someone "will check the status and get back to you"
  • 24th December - I sent a message through the BMR order website requesting a refund as it's taken too long, and another mate of mine had received his V5s from the supplier a few days earlier (international order).
  • 6th January - I get an automated email from the website saying "order has been refunded". Check my account, but no refund there. No worries, these transactions can take a couple of business days.
  • 27th January - After checking every few days if the refund is there, I try to call. No one answers. I send a PM to Stu on here as it shows him actively browsing threads. "Hey Stu, The order you refunded to me through your website says "refunded" as on January 6th but no refund has come through to my account yet?" Never received any response to this.
  • 29th January - I email BMR. "Stu can I please get an update on this as I've still received no refund on the charge to my account." Stu replied that afternoon: "I will check on this, see what is happening."
  • 3rd February - Never heard back again. Still no refund. Pretty upset by this point, I email Stu: "Stuart, I really need a resolution on this in the next 24 hours, otherwise I'll need to file a chargeback with my bank. I'd prefer not to have to do this but has been almost 10 weeks since I made the payment, and 4 weeks since you said it was refunded."
  • 9th February - After still receiving nothing, I spoke to my bank who told me what documentation I needed to file a chargeback. That night I printed all email correspondence out prepared to go into the bank the next day (10th Feb) at lunch time to get it all sorted. Log into my internet banking to check one last time and lo and behold, a credit transaction for today's date: "BMR Autowerkes Auburn - $299.00+"

Now with all of this said, I will still shop again with BMR and I have no hard feelings toward Stu over this because hey, shit happens. But it was a hugely frustrating experience. Not because I didn't get the product, and not because the refund took so long, but because communication was horrendous. In 15 odd years of buying things online, this was the most average seller communication I've received. That's really the only thing that upset me over the whole thing. All I want is an honest "no idea when the product is coming in, will get back to you" .. and when you say you'll "get back to someone" .. actually do it.

That's not good to hear Morris, that's all I'm dissapointed in - the communication. I wouldn't even mind if my order was delayed by 2 weeks as long as I'm kept in the loop. I'd rather support local business than buy overseas .

The benefit with BMR is they are not online only, they have a workshop and a phone number. If you are having problems, simply call or visit and you will get your answer on the spot

Perhaps you didn't read my post? Made a number of phone calls and was even in at Advan in person at one point and enquired then too.

Damn, that's fast. If that was for Angel Eyes globes then that makes my experience all the more depressing.

1 word. Hopeless.

I ordered nearly exactly what you did and got nowhere. The whole process took me 3 months and only got my JB4 and spacer, ER Charge Pipe and Afe intake had to wait further apparently so I demanded my refund which took 2 weeks.

I had to ring everyday. No ringing = no response. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Poor form Stuart.

Hmm disappointing to hear, i have ordered a couple of things from Stuart over the years and had no issues, was about to send him a message regarding some suspension parts but not sure whether to now.

Any other suggestions for Australian based suppliers?

I've dealt with Stu a few times and overall experience has been good.

The site stock levels do not get updated often in my experience so lesson learnt is if you are planning to order something, call him first and confirm stock before payment online. Otherwise you may be left hanging for a few weeks eagerly checking the status to update!

Things like this seem to happen if the item is out of stock and they don't know when it will be in stock. They're afraid to say anything like that because of the consequences that might come so they just delay things a bit and make up excuses.

A lot of members like to ride on his dick. I have had several encounters with him and it took a forum post to get a response.

I will mention all of the run down in my build thread. I am just tired of the finger pointing of his "warehouse guy". I understand some of you guys had a okay time frame from him. But I have had over 10+ people here in Perth provide testimony of delays up to 6 months.
