Looks like we have another N55 tuner to choose from

Yup.. AA has jumped into the mix with a brand new release of an N55 flash.. Check it out:

Says its completely reversible, but probably requires playing mail-tag with our ecu.

Hooray!!! finaly some one local that can Flash my ECU and not have to play mail tag with my ECU. Just got off the phone with Keneth at Activeautowerke, got some details about the flash and will call him back to setup appointment to have it done. He said it is invicible to the dealer, the only risk is that you may loose the tune (flash) if the dealer for any reason the re-flash the ECU, they will honor the flash with in the first year for free and then $100 per re-flash there after.

Should be a great upgrade too. From Active...

Stg1 flash with cats make ~ 365 flywheel HP and torque goes up 21%
Our stg2 flash with downpipe and stk exhaust makes 385 flywheel HP and torque goes up by 32%

Seen a n54 with all the mods with cutouts except meth and only make 363 whp on 93 oct .Their tuning is real conservative and never seen any proven cars at the track or drag.com Ever posted !

Youre not being real clear.. Are you talking about an N54 with AA tuning? Whats wrong with 363 whp? What kind of dyno? Thats easily over 400 crank hp. Not sure we see your point.

It was on a dyno jet sae,with a jb4 car would be at 400 whp easy..the point is aa chip sucks I had it and made no power on my car..Why you calling me a hater when i had already ran meth before and it sucks, just makes the car more dangerous..Do you think it's really good to spin the stock snails past 18 psi daily?? Your the hater for saying go back to my evo,my evo would spank your 1 so bad ,people would think you were going backswards with nos..p.s lmb.lol...

Fergetaboutit.. They dont make JB4 for N55s. Read the topic title. So if you like that Piggyback technology, its a JB3 youd be looking at for an N55.. And if you look at these dyno plots, youll see whp around 320whp !

Still think theres something wrong with 363 whp?!!!

Lastly, most in the know will always choose a native tune over a piggyback interceptor for smoothness of application and general efficacy. If the tuning is good, it will almost always be better than a piggyback. There are parms you can access in the ecu that you cant touch with a Piggyback.

I didn't know BMW made cars for drag racing....;-)

Oh and btw I had an Evo8. I modded and learned several things. Mainly Evos are like eggs, you step on them and they break. Oh and mine did 561whp @ 6k feet.... I'll take my 1 any day over that boy racer pos!

I agree with this pigtail piggy crap it makes it a real pain I'm the ass to remove ..I love how the Cobb is a true pnp,the jb4 is not ..When inwas installing it i saw this red wire at the end ,and I had read that it goes to the green harness for power .They did not provide it in the In the directions,and what pissed me of the most no contact number for help of needed ..That's A no no in my book,but in the end I have to admit the jb4 woke up after 4 days if ripping around .

not probably on the ecu removal - "The ECU needs to be sent in to Active Autowerke accompanied with the following form" - Active web page

it's a definite on the ECU removal - bench flash.
another option for the N55- thnks for the post up.


i wonder what the test N55er was?
DCT 1er, 6MT or 6AT?
i say 1 DCT, my guess.
