No,no:-) No Prototypes. Stainless Steel we sold a lot since June. I will post a few Pics tommorrow Morning when I am back in Office. But with the N55 Midpipe a really cheap Option for Great Sound! With the 2x70mm Lightweight Midpipe the Sound is awesome

I am also very interested about the stainless steel muffler. I am waiting for the picture and then I will decide whether to buy it or not.
I would also know if the sound of the stainless steel muffler is exactly the same as the titanium one.
Thanks

Had it since June!

If I somehow find more money somewhere (which I doubt while building a house..) I'll probably check out Lightweight's midpipe in exchange for the N55 Midpipe..but the sound is pretty awesome already the way it is.

I'll try to make a video within the next couple of days for the members interested in the stainless steel version.

Cheers

Just a few impressions from the stainless steel muffler:

Thanks Marc,

A few questions: it looks almost identical with the titanium exhaust to me, would you call the sound as pretty much the same as well?

What is the weight of this exhaust vs stock?

And, is this also developed alongside the titanium as the v2 of the first ss exhaust, or just the titanium enjoyed the update?

Yes, the look is nearly the same. The Sound from the titanium is more aggressiv and higher than the stainless steel. Titanium is 1,2mm,stainless steel is 1,5mm thick. We think there's the difference.
The complete Systems are developed new, not only the titanium
The stainless steel is complete 9,6 KG, Titanium 6,2KG
Today we fitted the complete 2x70mm Performance System on a 1M :-)

Sorry for the bad I-Phone Pic Quality

Very good, thanks Marc! Those last photos with mids look tits

I made a quick search but couldn't find the answer: what is the weight of the stock rear section? I remember holding it and that felt heavy in comparison to my replacement Evolve Race

Oz,
26lbs approx 12kg. Or if we use Marc's fact on titanium 6.2 + 6.5 = 12.7kg ?

Thanks oystero, wasn't aware of that link, very useful. There was a good thread of Metak long time ago, named something like 1M weight thread, was not complete but was a superb start to know weights of individual parts inside outside, should be a sticky.

Link says 26.5 lbs which is almost 3 kg. more than Lightweight SS rear, that also is pretty lightweight then

In fact, I am not a fan of taking out weight from the butt of this car, it goes noticeably better even with gas tank full vs half or 1/4, and we all know why, the rear lift. I would keep the stock exhaust weight intact or close as long as possible at that point and drop some weight with midpipes. N55 mids are already considerably lighter than stock 1M mids which I like.

That's just to say that I don't really care that much for titanium exhaust concept. Sure, cool metal and everything, sounds marginally better because you can use it less thick than steel but prices are due to a trend and not justified imho. And they are not immune from specific types of issues like the color deformation.

Exhaust looks the business. I like the matte appearance for something different.

All the fancy exhausts are coming out for the 1M.

Updated with Lightweight mids

2nd video made by Steven@Active Motorwerke. Doesn't sound much different in the video compared to the first video shot with OEM mids, but it is definitely louder and deeper in real life. First 1:30min is cold start and traffic. Enjoy the 5min video.

Mark LightWeight, on a couple of pictures so far, slightly flattened areas next to the larger bend (see below) of the midpipes are visible. Is this functional or a bending artifact?

Sounds great! One of my favourite exhaust tip designs as well, but just can't see the appeal to the titanium color change (even though you can't really see it under the car!).
Enjoy tearing up the streets.
