CIP 19 aka "September Update" Contents

Ok, so the update's been out for a while now. Anyone know what it officially contains for the e90?

How about any feedback from people who have had it done?

Just got the car back today from Sept update .....DRLs & Auto-Locks work fine, but I have yet to test the Key/Car Memory.

My 330 is non I-Drive so, most of the updates are a non-event for me. I've always had RDS since I got the car in May.

Also, no-can-do on the blinking clown nose. I asked them to take their time & try whatever they could to get it to work. Two days of trying=zilch.

No matter, the service manager said if it ever becomes possible they'll do it for me @ no charge.

Official list as posted before

The audio keeps playing if the vehicle is switched off for up to 3 minutes (until vehicle enters sleep mode). The audio cannot be switched off with the rotary knob. Only vehicles with CCC (Car Communication Computer) are affected.

Teleservice: no service calls even though CBS services due. Only vehicles equipped with SA639.

Loss of airflow from defroster vents.

After repeated convenience opening and closing using the remote key, only the trunk lid locks and the doors remain unlocked.

CCC (Car Communication Computer) equipped vehicles with telephone, call fails when dialed using linked sequence ("p" for pause) stored phone numbers.

Sporadic CCC resets (screen blanks out briefly and CCC restarts).

I went to the dealer last week for an update and I did not get DRLs (I do have autolocks since I picked up the car on August 10th)

I should go and ask to the dealer here but they don't seem to know anything about software updates.

Not Driver configurable in USA, your dealer can switch them on

Euro cars with IDrive can

I think I've spoken to a few E90 owners that said that DRLs are configurable thru I-Drive? (If so equipped..)

I can't do it myself on my non-IDrive 330.

for CIP 19 Update. IDrive july production. I will provide update (hopefully positive) on addtional functionality. I am looking for:

1- MP3 capabiltiy
2- DRL

You are in USA so
DRL will be settable by dealer, no MP3 yet

I just got my car back from doing the update yesterday. I now have RDS working with my iDrive system. I guess the Canadian software update includes this feature. I have yet to try an MP3 cd but the dealer tech seems to think it should work.

Have you tried it yet? Also, did you notice any new options on FM? The iDrive Owner's Manual from September says those cars receive HD Radio (I believe this is also available in Canada).

I am scheduled for the update on 10/19, but I'd sure love to hear from another North American 330i w/ iDriver owner about what REALLY changed, if anything. The posts here are astonishingly confusing. The only guy who seems to know is e90fleet, but he's been mum on HD Radio.

I've just picked up my car.
Autolock is working now, and they said rough idle is now gone... (Did not fully check that yet).
Clown nose cannot be enabled w/o an alarm system.
hmm what else, did could not spot the ticking sound due to bad rainy weather.
Oh~ they had to replace my rear view mirror because auto dimming feature did not work!
You guys should check your auto dimming mirror because mine seemed like had sensor, but the mechanic said it was "empty". They replace the whole unit today, and I will check it tonight.
Here are the report they gave me regarding the september updates just in case some of you wanted to see!

Spoke with the service guy yesterday... for those of us with non-i-drive cars, they are back-dating the service updates; so...

if you bought your car in august, the september/CIP19 update will fix most things mentioned,... if you bought your car in say.. june/july... you'll have to wait... like me... some more... for the next SW update... hopefully..

also,... noticed on your billing sheet from BJBMW,... you've had the passenger airbag light come on while someone is in the seat... me too! it's kinda freaky. hopefully they fix it whenever the SW update arrives.

No HD radio in the US on the E90, just the 7 and later the 6!

That's just totally fucked up. The earlier cars should be first in line. Tough shit if it's more work for them. That should be their pain for releasing cars for sale before they had everything working. Do we need to beat their asses in another war? I think it's time for a reminder just who owns whose ass here... :mad:
