E90 looks dated now that pics of the e92 have been released?
I have personally loved the e90 since its release. Great looking car, but does anyone else think that e92 looks much more modern and fluid than the e90. I feel as though the e90 looks somewhat last generation, a midway point between the e46 and the e92. The e90 seems so narrow, and non sporty compared to the e92. The e92s back and tail lights seem to be much more modern and agressive. Now when I go and looks at e90 pictures it almost seems as if the car has aged 5 years in 3 days. The e90 seems so boxy and pushed in unlike the e92 which flows so purely. Anyone else feel the same way?

For some reason i think the e92 looks older than the e90. You have the front looking like the previous model 5 series with it's roundness and all ..

hmm.. for some reason the pics of e92 doesn't give me that "wow!!" factor like the pics of e90 did to me over a year ago.
Maybe it's just a personal bias thing but I actually like the side view of e90 more than e92. I will have to see the e92 in person to judge.. -hkj |

The E92 gives me a massive WOW factor. Just looking at my E90 today, I was like mmmm I want an E92. I think it's definately going to outshine our cars, but then again the E46 Coupe (facelift) was wayyy better then the E46 Sedan (facelift)
I wish E92's were here (and I had money!!!) |

I don't think it looks dated at all. We still don't know if the E90 sedan will get a facelift yet anyways
Does anyone have pics of the E46 facelifts? I haven't noticed that before since E90 is my first 3 series

Honestly I think the e92 just makes the e90 sedan look that much better. The coupe is plain ugly. The rear end needs serious help. I cannot imagine why BMW would use this platform for the M3. I am quite disappointed since the new M was what I waiting for.

I actually prefer the look of the E90 to E92. The E90 design seems more coherent than the E92. The headlights on the E90 look better. The only part of the E92 I prefer are the tail lights, eventhough the rear end of the E90 seems the flow better with the rest of the car. If only the E92 would be more reliable than the E90.

I think that the E92 looks stunning and catches the eye more than the e90. I would like the e90 to have more of the same styling cues as the e92 does. I just hope the e92 335 coupe isnt really expensive. IT will be amazing. I really liked how the designers changed the grill to look more like the e46 kidney grills.

I agree per the above post regarding the e92 rear tail lights...they did the right thing instead of going with the e90 rears. But that is about the only thing I like on the rear. My problem is the way the rear end seems to drop off. Why couldn't they continue the side line to the back and up instead of flat lining it? If it was elevated more towards the rear of the car it would project a more masculine and muscular stance. The e90 has it a bit (may be an illusion because of 4 doors)but the e92 seems to completely lack it. A coupe (generally speaking) should always speak power, speed and give a presence of muscle even when standing still. Know what I mean? The e90 with the sport package seems to have it. It really is the wheels and the lower stance to be honest...amazing what a set of wheels can do for a vehicle.
I hate to be so critical of the e92...I generally love BMW and their end designs. I was one of the rare individuals who loved the 7 series when it hit the press. Still think it looked great before the freshening up. Besides the point. But this e92 coupe is lacking something. My biggest disaapointment is what may happen with the M3 to be honest. If tradition and history mean anything then the engineers will only slightly tweek (cosmetically speaking) the e92 for the M. Wider fenders, etc. There is no doubt in my mind that these coupes and the new M3 will be amazing in terms of driving. BMW never disappoints there! But I ofcourse have to love the exterior as well before I buy. The good news for BMW is that I am the minority because most potential buyers love the new look which will translate to great sales.

The coupe and the sedan are both stunning.

Finally good to see that the 3 series coupes will look distinctively different (apart from door numbers) to the sedan. Nice one BMW.

Forgot to mention, one thing I liked about the coupe is some of its interior details. For instance, the hidden storage compartment on the 2 doors is a nice touch. Also the the aluminum trim pieces on the steering wheel adds to that sporty feel of the coup. But err, these don't really make E90's design dated.

I do own a e90, honestly i prefer the e90 over e92 because the front end resembled 5 series and the back almost like 2007 Toyota Camry, if give a close look. So, the 2007 E92 is front end German back end Japanese, any comment from the editor regarding this topic
