Hey guys got a 135i N54 with about 70000kms and have some type oil leak which has gone down front engine to the splash tray seems to be coming from the area under where oil filter mechanism sits. Any ideas?

It's most likely the oil filter housing gasket. Very common problem with this platform.

One of the best paying jobs on a BMW. Gravy.

Might be tough for an amateur though.

There is almost no need to fix the oil filter housing leak (unless it's leaking a lot). Mine has been leaking for 50k miles although there are no spots on my driveway. Sure it looks ugly on the engine but the dealer quoted me $750 to fix it...I'll just keep driving it until I have to DIY it

If its been leaking that long i would do it sooner. the gasket is only like 15$ off amazon and DIY is not that bad really plus it'll give you piece of mind and not have to add oil as often
