Got around to adding a Microsuede wrap to my interior trim. Cost me only $20 and some time and sweat. I tried and failed several times at painting the trim pieces piano black.

Finally got my HIDs from alpine motorsports and installed them immediately. Great product and not to hard of an install...well the next one I do will be easy. These are way brighter than the LED option.

do you have to remove the airbag or the steering wheel when you wrap that area?

The instructions that I found on the forums said to disconnect the airbag completely, but I just popped the airback out and propped it up on the steering wheel and worked around it to disconnect the controls. I DID, however, disconnect the battery just to be safe.

Looks great! Have you considered buying the Bimmian alcantara boots (or doing a custom job that's similar)? You can get any custom stitch pattern, or any solid color, or the ///M colors, which I opted for. It's actually pretty cheap, but each one is custom so it takes a few weeks to ship. I got the steptronic shift boot and the e-brake boot for like 35 bucks IIRC, and installed them myself. I think it adds a nice touch. I did it myself (some sort of glue is required, I used $3 Elmer's Stix-All because it bonds to fabric). Mine's in black, but yours looks grey, which they offer. Though with the center trim being the same material, that may be too much. Here's a crappy pic:

Otherwise, everything looks great! The Alcantara/suede accents look great, and I have the Alpine HID's myself and I love it. Though the rings aren't the exact same brightness, you can actually see it during the day and even in direct sunlight! Your car looks awesome!

Nice mod! I dig the suede on the steering wheel, but I am not fond of the one on the door handle. It might become very rough after a long time due to wear and tear, but the door handle plate is always easy to replace.

Yes, I have definitely looked into these custom boots. It only appears grey in the photos due to the sunlight shining in. It's actually very black. I also want to buy that updated look shift knob that has the lit up gear select from bimmian.

On your lights...more info please. Did you just replace the AE bulbs? What brand and brightness? Was it just a plug and play? Are they like the LEDs with that separate Chap stick resistor or are they just bulbs? Thanks

For the trim, I visited a local fabrics store and bought 1 yrd of thin black microsuede. Then I went to walmart and bout a can of 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. Total $20 for all.

For the lights visit this link http://www.alpinemss.com/product_p/hidan.htm. There is a separate video on youtube for the version that you get for the 1 series (ALPINE HID V3). It's basically plug and play but there is a little drilling into the light housing cover for the wires. Well worth it. Oh, and I got the 8000k

How difficult was it to wrap the steering wheel piece? Mine is peeling real bad and I'd love to wrap it like that. Did you have to peel off and re-attach the M logo or cut around it?

Yes, just plastidipped to see how it would look. I want to add a red stripe around the lip to see that look as well.

Steering wheel was easy wrapping but removal was the most work. I just put a piece of painters tape over the M logo before spraying the adhesive then wrapped it. Then I cut around the logo and tucked it the best I could with a razor. My steering wheel trim piece was peeling too.
