Dash lights

wondering if anyone has converted the red glow from the dash to a different color yet? i would rather have it glow blue than redish orange. cant find anything on the web about it though.

I doubt many, if anyone, has done this. It reminds me of the ricer days of getting the aftermarket indiglo gauges for Acura Integras and Honda Civics.

The BMW orange is a legacy feature going back at least as far as the E30. My gauges in my 1987 325 were orange lit. However those were just bulbs with a orange film in front of it. Even if you could change the gauge glow, the radio display looks like an orange LCD. Same with the digital display in the middle of the gauges.

I believe Ford offers this feature I wouldn't want to ruin the single most distinctive feature about a BMW interior!

not saying it's horrible but personal preference would be to get the gauges to be as close as a possible match to the paint on my car. think that would look BA. i can live with the head unit and climate control, even the space in between the tach and speedo. "legacy" or not, still would prefer the gauges to be blue since i look at them for an hour a day. (even if some people did some hack jobs to rice out there car in the late 90's I think it would look really good in my car) i think all car makers should offer different shades and colors to make it more personalized.

In the middle of a Google search I saw that some 3 series owners changed the color by changing out the led. It sounded difficult because it required replacing and soldering in a different LED onto the existing unit, not plug and play.

But I didn't read too far into it.
