Procede and Australian Dealers

Hi Guys,

Just a quick question for the guys in Australia running Procede.

Do you leave it in when your car goes in for 'non warranty' issues such as oil changes etc???

Can the dealer still clear/reset service notifications?

Has anyone in Australia been questioned about it from a dealer?

Thanks in advance everyone!

I leave mine in... I would however take it out if I was in for any warranty work related to drive train (engine/gearbox etc.). For general servicing I do not take it out, and the only warranty work I have had done was the rear light so left it in. No issues for me til now, but just a couple of services and the tail light.

Cheers,

Adrian

Thanks for the prompt response Adrian.

So it shouldn't interfere with dealers clearing service alerts.

I will just make sure i stick it in Valet mode To many young kids working at my local BMW dealer.

Anyone else have an input or any experience with this?

The Procede only uses the CAN bus when it is in a performance map with the engine running, so in valet mode it does not use it at all, and when the engine is not running (as required for any updates etc.) it does not use the CAN bus at all.

So put it in valet mode just to be safe and should be fine.

Cheers,

Adrian

To be safe remove the tune.

I was denied warranty on a whistle BMW thought was the tranny, reason given was the LSD. Problem was later found to be something unrelated but they will point the finger at anything where possible.

So to be safe best to remove all mods.

Not sure I would remove all mods but for sure the tune not sure how they roll in Australia but im sure almost anywhere in the world, if 30 minutes could save you the cost of your warranty... id probably value the warranty over the 30 minutes and minimal effort required to remove the tune...
