business navigation

i just received my car with the business navigation idrive system. I took a dvd and wrote mp3 songs on it and put it into the dvd navigation drive and it played it what a pleasure. Shows the song titles and everything can play it in random as well.

WOW! That's excellent news! (Not that I have navigation or anything) but...nice to see you can play mp3 dvd's!!! Anyone with proffessional navi wanna give it a try...before and after the update?

Now THAT is awesome. If I knew it did that I may well have bought the nav. That means you get an iPod Mini's worth of mp3's onto a single disc, with ID3 tags and full steering wheel control buttons!

That's good news but I am going to wait until the CD player plays MP3s. With the DVD MP3, we won't be able to use the navigation at the same time.

I don't have a DVD burner myself so I guess I will have to wait until september. Nice find!

you know putting the mp3 dvd in the navigation dvd slot, so the thing navigates itself playing in random etc.

you can chose on the menu to play the mp3 dvd in random order if you want to. if you dont it plays the songs one after each other. The 6 disk cd changer on the business navigation plays mp3 cd as well. this shows you that the problem with the profesional system is software. The question is then why can then software of the business system plays mp3 and not the profesional system surely bmw must be aware of this.

Professional nav uses a totally different computer and should get MP3 capability in September
