I so want to bring this over the border to the US. Its only sub $50k us dollars but then there are additional taxes then there is the km to mph conversion, ugh.

I did it! The taxes are 2.5%. If you drive it across you don't need the speedo conversion. It's not easy but for such a nice car, probably worth it. It's also a Canadian stripper which comes standard with heated seats so it's a warm stripper. Never mind, it's a dealer, you will have to pay 11% Tax on top of it. Sorry. Lovely car though. Canadians have so many of these cool low option no nav cars!

I dont mind the 2.5 percent tax but 11 percent then another 7 percent for NJ. I guess I will keep looking.

Yes. It's nuts. If you find private seller though you don't pay the Canadian taxes. I have a thread on what I did to import mine.

Pretty sure you can get the 11% HST back.

Just down the street from me as well...I usually head there for service work on mine. Every now and then they get a 1M but this one looks pretty clean albeit it has over 47k km on it.

I inquired about the vehicle. With the hst tax and the 2.5 duty tax close to $58k. Some canadian buyer should scoop this up.

Yeah you have to find a private party one for the best deal. These cars actually have a US EPA and CARB decal under the hood. But the 11% tax is a killer. I also asked if that was refunded after exporting and was told, no.

I like how the dealer comments say "Only 220 units ever made!!" I guess they missed the 740 imported to the US and 6,307 world wide. Now if they said "220 imported to CA....."

Damned stealerships.

My 1M does NOT have nav (or HK audio).

Too bad about the HK--better sound, no weight or other penalty

Almost no weight penalty. The speaker on HK have bigger magnets which add a little weight and I believe it has two extra tweeters in the rear. Also the AMP has more power and probably a little heavier too, though I don't know for sure on that one. Still not a significant difference but speakers are quite heavy components.
