New BMW Performance stuff, check this out !

Hi guys !

Yesterday, I finally picked the side skirts up after painting and I installed them on my ride in the afternoon.

I used the DIY thread of the Tii Side Skirts in order to mount them correctly

Now, you can check it out :

What do you guy think ? Next mod sooooooon !

Nice! Out of interest, where do the grilles go? Is it just a mesh that leads to the inside of the skirt? I just worry that it'd fill with muck? Or is it a plastic grille that doesn't go all the way through?

Thanks !

The grilles go into the holes of the skirts You just have to use the glue already applied on the side skirts
But don't worry, doesn't matter if you didn't fix them : a friend of mine didn't fix them on his E82

Thanks Sk8fe Everybody says like you : wheels are nice ! Haha !

Next step will be a slightly drop of about 0.4" front and rear like the BMW Performance suspension

I have the BMW Performance Suspension on mine and I really like it.

Are the holes in the BMW Performance side skirts functional? Do they redirect air to cool the rear brakes? Or what are they there for/what do they do?

Also, what fuel economy numbers do you see with your 120d before Stage 1 chip tuning and after? Just curious...

I will order the Bilstein b8. I will mount them with the Eibach ProKit springs in order to have the B12 kit (or named Performance² too). This kit seems to be a bit better than the BMW Perf' suspension but lower the car the same.

Not at all It's only for the look of the car, these are not like holes on skirts on super cars

Before avec the Stage 1 chip, I drove like an old man and have a consumption of 5.8L/100km (40.56mpg).
Now I have more power, I drive muche more faster and I have a less important consumption : 5.5L/100km (42.77mpg).
I tried to drive like I drove before and I reached 4.8L/100km (49mpg)

I really would like to have another motor, but I can't

So, just to clarify, the holes just go to the inside of the skirt?

I just wonder if it'd fill up with dirt and stones etc?

Yep, the holes go from the outside of the skirts to the inside and you can or not fix the plastic stuff sold with them

Without the stuff in plastic, the hole will be empty and there could be some dirt inside but it is open to the underside of the car

Here is a pic with my plastic stuff and side skirts mounted on the car (I hope it can help you or ask me if you have any questions) :

Go for them if you don't own them ! One of the best exterior mod like previously said.

Next step will be the BMW Performance front bumper

Are there any performance benefits to the BMW Performance front bumper? Does it provide for any additional brake or oil cooling? Or is it strictly cosmetic?

Hey Sk8fe ! I don't think so, I think like almost all the Perf stuff for the exterior, that's juste for better looking
I read on the realOem website there are obturated airducs left and right ... So why not opening them to have a better airflow on the oil rad ? Or toward the brakes ?

Check this here
