My experience is that lexus always looks really good on paper and even better in TV-ads.. but thats about it. When you get behind the wheel of one you can't really compare it to the bimmer (from a drivers perspective that is)

I remeber the same hype around the old gen IS against the E46.. same types of threads about how BMW was crushed by the IS and the E46 sucked and it couldnt do anything against the superior IS..

lol well we know how that turned into a complete fallacy... marketing hype can go a long way, but real drivers will pick out the real car, its just a matter of time and I know where i'm putting my money

the new IS definitely has more features for the money but it really depends on what you value more in a car. as far as performance/handling goes, i have yet to read a single review that rates the IS over the e90.

I think that car is so boring. Great...A upgraded toyota with lots of horsies. I bet the car looks just as bland inside as it does outside. Like all lexus automobiles all I can say is "blah".....

Hmm... not sure why you just "copy and paste" the list of all the features on the Lexus IS. Many of the features on the IS are also on the e90. What's the point of this??

If you drive it, you will know that this car doesn't compete with the 330i.
Check out the equivalent website to e90post.com:

http://my.is/

On it's forums, they readily concede that this car isn't in the same class as the 330i (or the 325i, for that matter).

I'm probably going to get an IS 250 this weekend for my wife.
It's like a nice leather couch on wheels.

Yes, the BMW balls of luxury were kicked. So were standard features balls. So was zero to 60 times balls. So was interior road noise balls. So was the no extra cost for metallic paint balls. No extra cost for the Comfort Access Balls. And the list goes on and on an on.

But, IF you were to race both cars on Laguna Seca who would win? Nobody knows, but it would be a close race, no doubt about it. Then after the race I could keep the spare change I saved from not buying the 330i and fly to Europe and take a vacation. ; )
