Great comparison! M3 steering parts and control arms apparently really liven up the steering feeling and you can always add a DISA manifold with a euro tune such as evolve to bring the power to 275ish flywheel HP for a little more oomph.

Welcome!
Set aside some money to fix the suspension, because people here really swear by the sub frame bushings mods and m3 arms.

Sounds spot on to my thoughts between the two, although you left out the perfect mechanical throttle cable of the E36 M3.
I do find it interesting more and more of us are ending up here. It really is the logical step.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and just sold my '98 e36 m3 a few months ago. I currently have a 2013 128i with just the msport package on order -build date is June 3rd 2013. I do miss my e36 m3's driving dynamics, though not what I consider to be the worst/cheapest interior of any car I've ever owned or currently own. I'm glad to see most people who made the same transition are happy with their decision! Only thing in the OP that bothers me is that I didn't think the E36 M3 steering feel was that great... I didn't get a good feel for the 128i steering feel as I still need to get used to the quickness of the rack. Narayan |
