Firstly, I hope we still get to see you this weekend. For group photo's, we can take pictures of your car's uninjured side
Seriously, don't worry about the body modifications. In our eyes, as demonstrated by the reactions above, you unnecessarily had to endure someone else's irresponsibility and I would like to think your reaction at the time of impact actually saved them (kids and all) from some serious injury. Little do they know - you saved them. Secondly, I admire your restraint and level-headedness. Clearly, the other driver demonstrated no such capability and should be shamed as the kind of driver that should be banned from the roads. To my mind, if you are irresponsible, you shouldn't use public roads, facilities, or public anything. Go destroy your own stuff in short. You did well Alex. Those aren't marks on your car, they are medals. |

Bad luck Tay ------ sounds like the other driver was trying test your Ancap safety rating.
But not unusual - Sydney has some intense drivers who seem oblivious to other road users. I hope the repairs go well |

I'm going to come on Sunday, no doubt about it. Can't miss a great opportunity to catch up with you guys again The Assessor is booked for Thursday, so i'll probably drop the car in for repairs on Monday. I firmly believe the same - if i had 'held my line' and not driven into the shoulder and slammed the brakes on - i don't think she would have been so lucky to avoid a head-on collision with the other car. Regardless, it still could have been much worse, for me, them or both. Will be seeing you guys on Sunday And yes, pictures will be taken from the front left corner |

Sorry to hear Alex of this BS incident, as it is really not an accident..Sounds quite deliberate by the other driver just to save her own skin..
I would loan you Zuzette for the drive day as I will be OS, but alas, my insurance policy has only two named drivers both over 40yrs of age.. Hopefully all goes well with the repairs and claim process which can be a real PITA when the at fault is uninsured..Good luck mate.. |

That is absolutely unbelievable. She tried to kill you and just drove off?
Just curious when on a one lane road was she tailgating you for awhile? If she was that could indicate that she wanted to pass. Secondly as you saw her overtaking could you not speed up or slow down quickly just so that your not side by side with her? On a one lane road she would ram into you if there was a car on coming, this you could've seen. I'm just curious as to the circumstances as on motorcycle forums we usually discuss what we could've done and whether or not we could've predicted it was to happen should we again be in a similar situation. So not blaming you just trying to learn as it is clearly that "woman's" fault! |

She then popped out on a blind corner, and before i knew what was happening she was side-by-side, swerving and impacting into me. I reacted and slammed the brakes, went onto the shoulder (and off it with 2 wheels). I'm pretty confident had i not reacted by steering AND braking away from her, it would have been a nasty, nasty accident. |

The police said since nobody was injured, no cars were towed, and she (eventually) exchanged details, then there's not much they can do. |

Here's the quote.
I double-checked the part number of the wheel and they quoted me on a 206 not the 207M wheels which I have. Emailed them back and told them and they're fixing it up. Last edited by Taymaishu; 09-28-2011 at 03:22 AM.. |

Apart from the rim, surprisingly cheap repair. Wow the rim is almost twice the price of the front guard!

That's a bugger Alex. I'm sure it will all look 100% in the end. Still, such a hassle! At least she didn't push you off the road or something similar.
Slightly OT... My flat mate's girlfriend knows you. As does my best mate. And all three of you share the same name... Alex.
